I Need Your Feedback

I need your feedback

I need feedback from – you – my faithful readers. Your comments and emails encourage me, teach me, comfort me, challenge me and bless me.

Last year was crazy full with the WLW Conference, Webcasts and book launch. I am looking forward to a much quieter year in 2014. I have turned down ALL speaking opportunities and am clearing my calendar for more reading, writing, you tubing πŸ˜‰ and for you!  I plan to attend a few conferences – not to speak – but to get filled up so I have more to offer here.

This blogging world has opened up a lot of different paths for me to pursue from — publishing a second book, to speaking opportunities, to guest posting on other blogs.  But let me be honest – I miss being home right here at Women Living Well with you all.  This is where I began and this is where I feel called.

So I’m turning over a new leaf in 2014.  I’ve cleared my calendar, I’ve cleared my head, I’ve said “no” to a boatload of paths I could have taken – I even quit contributing to some of my favorite sites – and I’m ready to serve you all right here.  This decision has brought me so much peace.  I have a journal that is starting to overflow with ideas of things I could do and write here…when previously my brain was so cluttered with lengthly ministry “to-do” lists I could barely put a sentence together for a blogpost!

But I need your help directing me a wee bit…cause I have a lot of different ideas of things I could write on…so would you give me 5 minutes of your time and answer a few questions below in the comment section.  I AM listening – I want to serve you better and while I can’t do everything you will recommend – I will be praying over it all.

1.) I will be kicking off the new year with an 8 week Book Club through the book Women Living Well – what would you like to see in a book club? If you read the book, what areas do you wish I had written more on or what was your favorite part?  What do you wish was in the book that was not?

2.) I will be kicking off the new year with a Tuesday video series called – Talk to Me Tuesday.  What topics would you like me to cover in my videos?  Do you have any specific questions I could answer in them – ask them.

3.) Do you like it when I have guest posters – and I don’t mean Janelle’s recipes – she is a staple here and not going anywhere πŸ˜‰ ? Do you want more or less guest posts from other bloggers?

4.) Do you like giveaways? Do you want more or less of those?

5.) Do you like book reviews?  Do you want more or less of those?  Would a quarterly, 4-week Book Club interest you or bore you?

6.)  Do you like the posts where I write about family stuff with family pictures and happenings in my real life – they aren’t spiritual – just “for fun” posts – do you want more or less of these?  I always feel a little narcissistic posting them…like it’s not the point of my blog – me…

7.) Regarding frequency, do you wish I had more blog posts in a week or less?

8.)  Do you want more posts dealing with cultural issues or theological issues regarding my core topics of marriage and family?  Any other thoughts – I’m listening…spill it! lol!

Thank you for your feedback.  I appreciate it! πŸ™‚

Walk with the King,

  1. I love the idea of the book club.
It would be great if you were to give away one or two of the books that you’re reviewing. Whether it be via amazon.com wjere they could get it automatically, or through the mail.
The video series sounds fun. I would love to hear things like stress control, marroage,

  2. I’m glad your cutting back! I’m sure that did bring peace. I am doing that this year in my own world and my family is goin to be blessed for it!

I loved the book! Thought it was very well balanced as far as content, etc.

I love hearin about your family! It is fun to get to “know” you better that way!

  3. Sorry..
I would love to hear marriage advice, holiday planning, just womanly advice.
Love to have guest bloggers, people like Candace Cameron, sometimes men speaking fron the husband perspective. Authors of the books in the club.
    Frequency, maybe 2-3 x’s a week.
Family, marriage and topics mentioned above.
Thanks for asking us! Makes it better when you are a part of the process!

  4. I love the idea of a book club. There is so much I gained from the book and I know reading it through a second time with others would open up even more.
Topics for Tues. I am struggling right now (always) with trying to fulfill my role as homeschool teacher, wife, housekeeper, etc. and I need guidance and grace. Help!
Truthfully, I like hearing from you. I love Janelle and look forward to her, but I tend to read your blog for you.
    Everyone loves giveaways. πŸ™‚
I find it encouraging to see snapshots of everyone’s daily life. It makes a blog more personal and I wouldn’t find it at all narcissistic. I find it let’s us all relate to the real day-to-day person and that’s always fun!
It’s great to come to your blog each day and see a post but only if it doesn’t burn you out. You are a mama and wife first. We all understand that!
    #8, yes.

  5. Hi Courtney! So glad to hear you’ll be around here more. πŸ™‚ live the idea of vlogs on Tuesday and book club for your book as well as a periodic book club. Would live general tips and how to in your videos about school, housework bible study . And love when you share your photos etc…

  6. 1) I haven’t read your book yet…hopefully I get it for Christmas!
    2) Dating/Courtship (What were the relationship guidelines when you met your husband), preparing to be a wife/mom, etc. I know the majority of your readers are already mothers/wives, but I’m sure there are other readers like me who are not yet. I’d like to hear your perspective on those “pre-marriage” topics. Plus, the moms on here might want to share your views with their kids, and so on.
    3) While I don’t mind a guest post every now and then, I enjoy your writing style and it is why I come to your blog. Maybe for every 3-4 Courtney posts, 1 guest post?
    4) Giveaways are always fun, but it isn’t the reason I come to your site so it doesn’t matter to me.
    5) Less book clubs. The primary book I’m trying to read and understand is the Bible, so when you have a book club I tend to not participate. On the other hand, I love your reflections/videos on verses and different sections of the Bible!
    6) More family posts–reminds us that you are a real person and are relatable!
    7) More blog posts (and videos–they’re my favorite)! But quality over quantity…don’t put up a post because you feel you need to keep a quota. Do it based on what you feel is right.
    8) Cultural issue posts are always interesting–it makes me think of how I should adjust my thoughts to be less “worldly”.
Happy New Year! Grateful for your ministry! πŸ™‚

    1. I agree with all of Michelle’s points. I am so glad you decided to cut back and focus on your blog. I love your ministry right here.

    2. Mainly I agree with Michelle`s answers.
#on 2nd point I`d like to add the question – what can You say to those who`d love kids, but are afraid of child birth (pain and other stuff) – how did You deal with those, and how can Scripture encourage us/me?
#Giveaways are not the reason for a blog, right? πŸ™‚
#theological (and cultural also, I guesss) issues regarding the basic topics of marriage and family – those are the reason I found this blog (and book) so interesting.

Thanks for the honesty and godliness You put in your posts!

  7. This is so helpful everyone! Thank you so much for your feedback so far. I’m already relieved that I have “permission” to share some of my family pics…I post stuff to instagram that sometimes I wonder if I could post here…then I think it’s so “unspiritual” lol! so I don’t…I used to do this and my blog has morphed into a teaching blog rather than a personal one…I wasn’t sure if I could add this in without watering down the heart of “living well”.

Keep the feedback coming – I’m listening!!! Thank you!!!!

    1. Awww, this is so sweet Courtney! πŸ™‚

I LOVE being a staple on Women Living Well and am so humbled to be here. Your readers are such devoted and amazing women. You are not only a fabulous blogger, writer, speaker, mom and wife…you are one my my most prized friends. Ladies- when I say this girl has integrity, she does! She is so loyal, caring, and trustworthy (in person)….which I am sure you can feel, from being here on WLW. God has blessed this ministry from her obedience.

I love your ideas and the fact that you are saying NO in order to say YES! Wohoo!

I personally get a lot out of specific marriage issues/challenges with story examples and what the bible says on how to cope with those issues. Even if I am not going through the issue at hand, chances are I have a friend who is and I can (and have) direct her to this page.

      Love you,

  8. Oh Courtney, I just love your blog so much!! Your book truly has been such a life changer for me. I know I have told you that before, but if anyone out there hasn’t read it~hang on because you will be so INSPIRED! I am such a slow, bad reader and I was able to follow along and finish it!! Can you believe that it an accomplishment for me to finish a book?~how embarrassing! I would love to do a book club on your book and read it again as I may have missed some really key points, or had questions along the way!!
If you ever had a extra post, I would love to hear about how you hear God! This is embarrassing but sometimes it is so hard to decipher my own mind vs. Gods word! The more I pray the better I am at hearing him, but I still find myself doubting what I am hearing. Does anyone else feel this way? I am just curious.
I feel so inspired by the women who follow your blog, the guest speakers, and you Courtney! I think that you are on such a great track, I wouldn’t really change much~except of course more!!!
Thank you so much for all you have done for me and I know other women I have introduced your book to have been inspired and changed in a great way!!
Merry Christmas Everyone~Shelby (a.k.a “Nurse Shelby”)

  9. Courtney, first of all I love your book!!! I like how genuine and real you are, and I really felt encouraged to dig in the Word more afterwards, too. As a new mom who adopted 2 little ones this year, I would like to hear more on time- stress management with children, parenting in general, and I’ve always loved marriage topics! I love your videos, so I’ll look forward to more of those. I’m also glad to hear Janelle is staying around!… Since I’m also a food blogger, her blog lead me to yours!
It’s good to hear you’re saying no to opportunities next year to be with your family. You’re always an inspiration. Oh and keep the family photos and posts coming… I love it:)
    Merry Christmas!

  10. 1.) Re: book club, I def want to be a part of that! I loved the book and how you CONSTANTLY tie it back to NEEDING to be in the word. Just consistency with that!
2.) I’m not going to lie… but I really don’t like videos! I feel stuck listening and much prefer reading. But I do like when you use video to show us things that you can’t show in writing like your holiday binder.
3.) I do not like guest bloggers. If I want to read them, I’d go to their blog! I am also busy so if you don’t have time to write, that’s ok. I read blogs in a reader so your updates come when they come. You are the boss and the frequency of posts is your call! But I like YOUR words best. That’s why I subscribe to Women Living Well!
4.) Giveaways are fun but I like link up parties more! Great way to promote our own blogs.
5.) Book reviews are fun but not something I have to have. I can read review on Amazon. I wouldn’t stress over doing this regularly. Just post when you read a good book.
6.) Absolutely LOVE your posts where you post family life stuff. It’s fun to see how you live bcs it’s thru those moments that I {we} all identify with you more! It’s thru that connection that I’ve grown to really be a BIG supporter of your blog, GMG, FB page, etc.
7.) I like the current pace. I subscribe to many blogs so it’s not like I don’t have stuff to read! Too much just for the sake of writing can be overwhelming.
8.) Cultural issues YES… I love your opposite world stuff. That’s the life application stuff we need!

Hope that helps you figure things out!
    BIG FAN!!!

  11. 1) I am loving the book!
    2) I love the idea of Talk to Me Tuesday. Anything to do with your study methods, marriage, what you are studying on your personal time, being steadfast.
    3) I don’t mind guest posters, but I don’t enjoy them as much. I like your writing style… it’s like we are friends talking over lunch or something… it’s great. You do an awesome job Courtney.
    4) I could take or leave the giveaways. I’ve only entered once.
    5) Book reviews? Ehh… I really don’t read that much. I have to be really interested in something to read it. So more than likely, I wouldn’t participate. (I’m trying to figure out a schedule that I can stick to right now, I have been way too lax in housework and bible studying and starting tot school with my daughter to even think about reading a book right now lol)
    6) I like to see pictures of your family and hear about what’s going on! (It helps with the friend thing ;))
    7) I LOVE reading your posts! And it would be awesome to see more of them during the week, but I COMPLETELY understand if you can’t πŸ™‚
    8) Yes.

  12. Hi Courtney!
I love your blog posts, because you are so real, right where all of us are! I also like the video posts,as well as the times you share your knowledge from Moody Bible. As a mom of a senior in college, yikes! your posts on home and making a place to come back to gives me great ideas. No matter what direction you go, it will be good, you have found your voice, stay true to it! P.S. A refresher course on how you set up your notebook with prayers for the year would be awesome!
    Hugs and Blessings for the New Year;

  13. I’m not a big fan of guest posts either, I love your writing style. I loved the OppositeWorld series although I know you took a LOT OF SLACK for it.

I’d like to see blog posts on how we can share the Gospel with others. I admit,I’m not good at that as I don’t feel as if I’m a strong enough Christian yet & I’m not plugged into a local church since they are all denominational & Id feel more comfortable in a nondenominational congregation.

Please don’t stop sharing the pics of your family! I love them! So long as they don’t mind. Would Keith ever do a guest post here for us? I’d love to hear his point of view. I saw him with your children at the end of the conference in the lobby & was going to go up & say hi but thought I better not as I didn’t want him to think I was some crazy stalker lady since I recognized him from your blog…lol

  14. 1. I have the book and plan to start it soon. Would love a book club.
    2. The video series sounds great. The ones you have posted in the past were very helpful esp. about homeschool.
    3. I love your writing style as well and I don’t mind guest posts. Maybe some posts from husbands.
    4. I don’t really care about the giveaways too much, a few are nice.
    5. Book reviews are helpful. I like the idea of a 4 week book club.
    6. I think it’s awesome to see and hear about your Family,
    7. What ever works best for you and your family.
    8. Yes.
I am so thankful for your ministry.
Merry Christmas and Blessings for the New Year!

    1. Book club- Not so much
Guest posters – on a RARE occasion but I come to your blog for you not others
      Video blogs -love
Family blog posts and pics – love
Would like to hear more about studying the bible, prayer time, routines and such. Marriage and parenting issues, keeping house and so on.
      Thanks for asking.

  15. Hi Courtney! Your post today was very relatable… Maybe it’s because I’m preparing my “to do list” for 2014 and was thinking I need to “let go” of some things also, so I can focus on really hearing what God wants me to do. I love that you’ve decided to spend more time with us πŸ™‚ We can see you’ve gotten busy…and I was starting to miss the way it was when I first started following you! Here are my thoughts on what you asked…
    1. Book club would be nice
    2. Videos are great; videos on how to be a Godly woman πŸ™‚
    3. Guest posts are fun every now and then, but I love your posts.
    4. Give always are nice every now and then, but not necessary
    5. Book reviews would be great, I’m always looking for new material to read
    6. I enjoy hearing about your family and I’m sure a lot if others do too! It’s personal and sweet πŸ™‚
    7. I read several blogs every day, I think 3-4 a week would be nice…but, I wouldn’t be mad if you did less πŸ˜‰
    8. Yes. You have a great way of explaining things and putting it all in perspective.

  16. 1 – LOVE and can’t wait! :o)
2- Yes please!!! I love your videos, so encouraging, and I think it helps readers connect to you on a more personal level – they get to see your expressions and mannerisms….also helps but more of a “you” voice to your written posts. πŸ˜€
3, 4, 5 – As long as there isn’t more of that that “you” I’d love it.
6- Yes, that would be SO fun!
7- More please! πŸ˜€ Love reading your blog!!
    8-Yes! πŸ˜€

  17. 1.) I would be interested in the book club…. it’s coming as a Christmas gift and haven’t read it!

2.) I really like your videos. When you focus on family, marriage, Proverbs, etc.

3.) Less need for guest posting, as you are the reason I visit the blog. πŸ™‚

    4.) No giveaways needed.

5.) I liked your posts about the “best marriage books” or best studies, etc. Otherwise I get tired of reading reviews.

6.) Yes, we want to know you, your family, and your real life stuff. It’s a JOY to read & see!

7.) Your 3-4 posts a week are wonderful.

8.) Keep standing strong. Over time I can tell that the voices & feedback are so draining on you. Keep your security in Christ, be confident (like the Rachael Ray show!!!) and claim it. You are a LIGHT and an amazing ROLE MODEL for us striving to follow Christ.
I am also so blessed by GMG and all that it has become. I have been leading & participating for several years now and just blown away at how far the ministry is reaching. Glory to God!!!

    Becca in Oregon

  18. Hi Courtney,
I love your blog. I think it would be great to see more family pics…I too find it more relatable. Love the idea of videos. I’m personally not into book clubs but love whatever wisdom you bring to the blog…you always give us something to think and pray about! I find your blog a Blessing!! Merry Christmas!

  19. 1. A book club sounds great! I was so honored to be a part of your launch team…will love to go through it again with YOU!
    2. Yippee for a video series!! I always LOVE when you post vlogs!
    3. I have to say that I come to this blog to read posts from you, but I do understand that you need a break sometimes.
    4. I love giveaways, but won’t quit reading if you don’t have them. πŸ˜‰
    5. Book reviews would be great! I love to read and am always looking for good books (I used to read only fiction, but now I like to read to learn about theology, marriage, and parenting).
    6. It’s fun to see things about your life and family!
    7. Personally, the more the better with your posts! When you take bloggy breaks, I miss you! I do understand the need for breaks though and the fact that you are also a wife and mother!
    8. Yes, you always have such good points of views and explain things so well!
Basically, after I read your book I so wished that you lived down the road from me. I so, so wish that I felt there was a woman near me that could mentor me. Don’t get me wrong there are some great women around me, but when it comes down to it I just don’t feel that they truly and fully try to live out what the Bible tells them to in all aspects of life (not like I’d like to strive for). So basically whatever you feel is helpful for women to help them live their lives for God’s glory.

    1. Agree with everything Sandra has said! You’re an extraordinary example of a young woman living in the world but striving every day to be an example for Christ. All the best to you & your family, always & Merry Christmas! Julia

  20. Courtney, I would have to give you a blue ribbon for your blog!! Of all the blogs that I’ve read this year I’d say yours spoke to me the most. Thank you!!!! I know it was probably challenging for you and kept you busy but I want you know that God has used it to bless others ! I probably wouldn’t try the book club because I am trying to focus more on the Bible and not so many other books. There are a lot of wonderful books out there but I know I need to be more just in the Word. Freebies and giveaways are ok but for me not really needed. I do really LOVE your videos!! It helps make the blog more personal and real for me. You have such a sweet spirit and passion for God and family that inspires me. I would like to read your blog 2-3 times a week. Just do whatever God leads you to do. πŸ™‚
That is really what your blog is all about anyways!! Walking with the King and letting him control everything.
I like to read your thoughts on marriage, parenting, homemaking, growing in Christ stuff etc. Maybe it would be nice to see more posts on being a godly wife in a marriage that maybe isn’t as wonderful as yours. I am trying to read blogs ( only a few) that encourage me to be a godly wife and mother.
I don’t mind guest speakers now and then, but I really enjoy reading your thoughts and such. I love the way you write.
I do enjoy seeing pictures of your family because it helps to relate to you. You are real and I appreciate your authenticy.
I have to say that I really like your videos when you have your Bible out and you are just speaking about a passage that has spoken to you in some way. The passion you have for Jesus comes through. I hope you can be encouraged by everyone’s comments. May God lead, guide you and give you wisdom to do what is best for you family. I hope that you are greatly blessed as you start this next year of blogging. Thank you soooo much for continuing on this journey!!! Another sister who is trying to Walk with the King πŸ™‚

    1. I am so happy I found WLW! I love reading your writing, it is so real! I woe have to say less guests and don’t worry about giveaways. I also enjoy hearing your ideas about things you do as a family. My children are getting older so I plan to incorporate some of your ideas with my 2 now and any other future grandchildren. I feel like you are now a friend of mine!

  21. 1) I like the Book Club idea. I have your book and would like to start reading it after the holidays so that would be really great to tie it in with your book club.

    2) I really like the videos you do. I found them very helpful to me. I would watch them when I was living overseas, newly married and alone with no family around. I loved your videos on marriage and even the video on your christmas binder and your Journals. Very interesting.

    3) I do like your guest bloggers. It’s a great way to read different takes on ideas and topics.

    4) I dont know if giveaways include me as im not in the US

    5) Book reivews are helpful. I have found books from your blog that i may not have come across or think to even look at before.

6)Family posts are good and refreshing. It’s great to be able to relate to issues we all deal with on a daily basis with kids and family. I know there was a time i was struggling with my little guy and I came across a post you had about a struggle and after reading how you dealt with it and your encouraging words I felt a lot better and not like a big failure lol

    7) More blog posts would be good. I love reading them

  22. OH I could use a book club that’s a good idea and I like to see your personal stuff too. Fun to see you in action here and there. I don’t remember guest bloggers so I can’t give you insight there. Perhaps I thought they were you.?

I look for good books all the time. Usually it takes me longer to read them than buy them. So those are helpful. I am getting yours here soon too. I think it’s wrapped under my tree, but I don’t want to be nosy.

  23. I love your work, and i know many Dutch woman along with me. It would been nice, if you can remember that many international woman, would like to play along with the giveaway’s, etc. Would been so nice if we here can pass on the word, by add people to your page. I hope you will think about it πŸ™‚

    Thanks, Eveline

  24. 1.) I haven’t read yet your book yet.
3.) It’s good to get someone else’s vantage point, but like the other commenters above, I don’t love guest posts. Would it be possible for you to interview someone, and post the interview in lieu of a guest post?
    4.) They’re fun.
5.) Book reviews are awesome to help sift through the myriad of what’s out there.
6.) ***Jesus walked through LIFE with his disciples, and in 1 Thess 2:8, Paul said that he was pleased to share not only the gospel, but his life with them. Posting about your life, your family, makes you REAL and gives weight to the other stuff you share. Please continue!
7.) I say post as many as you feel comfortable doing that doesn’t burden you.

  25. Courtney, 2014 sounds exciting πŸ™‚ I just want to echo a few other readers, I too am trying to spend more time in the Bible and less time in Christian living books, they have to be pretty good to get my already stretched time, while I appreciate their investment, we need the Bible like never before. Let the Lord lead you, you only have to please Him, I am sure those who have commented feedback are faithful subscribers and will ride the journey where it takes you. Personally I find the frequency of giveaways noisy and takes away from drinking deeply from the well. Have a blessed and joy filled Christmas and New Year. Tara.

  26. Courtney it is so sweet of you to ask your followers what they want when you have your own household to look after. I love your blog.
    1) Book club would be nice-I am horrible at finish a book on my own.
    2) Videos love them because we get to see you, hear your voice, and we get to watch you in the comfort of our homes. I am visual learner. πŸ™‚
    3) Guest blog post is good sometimes another person view.
    4)Yes giveaways
    5) Book reviews are helpful bc there are some books i would have not came across on my own
    6) Family photos of course-we get to see you doing life, and its not stage. We can relate more to you by seeing photos
    7) I think if you do about 3 post/week you are doing well bc you have a household to look after. I love your post but you have a family to serve.

Courtney it has been a while since I have written a comment keep shining for HIM my friend. Much love to you

    In England,
    Nicole Auld

  27. Hi or as we say hear Dumela.

    1. Book club sounds great
    2. videos- yay
    3. yes, to guest post
    4. I like the giveaways but currently not in the US
    5 and 6 yes
    7. I love reading your post. I am away from home and haven’t found a home church in my area yet. Your post help keep me on track while looking for a church. So as often as you want
    8. yes, I think both would be interesting. I’m learning a lot about the culture of marriage here in Africa and it interest me. I don’t know if anyone else would be interested but do you think you could write about infertility/ foster care/ adoption. I know it may not apply to your average reader but that is where a lot of my friends and I are at in life. Wrestling with trusting God’s plan when it doesn’t look the way you planned. Thanks πŸ™‚

  28. 1. What I would like to see in a book club would be a weekly video and discussion questions that were posted a few days in advance. That way you can go over your thoughts on the questions and I can follow along. My favorite part of your book was the first section with my walk with God, and the last section on Homemaking. I think I will enjoy the parenting section a little more once I become a parent. March 2014 can’t come soon enough! πŸ˜€ I would also liked a piece on what color highlighters you use for what and more organizational tips.
    2. I would like to see something on how to raise a small child, have dinner on the table, and look good for your husband & as crazy as this sounds a video on how you do your hair. I love the curls you have and I have long(er) hair also and would love to do what you do.
    3. I enjoy your guest post sometimes, but I do wish you didn’t have so many.
    4. Giveaways?! Oh yes! I love them! Keep them coming please!
    5. I love book reviews. I love to see books that other women have enjoyed. I would love to participate in a 4 week book club!
    6. I love seeing the photos that you post! Your home and family are so beautiful! I feel like I can connect more when I see your day to day operations and special photos. (:
    7. I love reading your blogs. I wish you posted every day Monday-Friday!
    8. I think I would really enjoy seeing your thoughts on theological issues.

    * Notice how I used the word LOVE thorough out the post. You have blessed me in so many ways. I am so thankful that my friend showed me you. God used you and your Having Babies in an Opposite World post to confirm to my husband and I that we are making the right choice in starting our family.
Thank you for all that you do.

  29. Hi Courtney,

I love to hear from you too, like everyone else who has posted comments! And I always enjoy what you’ve got to say. I’m yet to read your book, but I have a copy (yay!!) and I am looking forward to our Christmas holiday at the end of the week and beginning to read it. I love to read your blog because it’s you that is writing it, and I think you have a great gift for really encouraging women to walk with God more intimately and zealously. I’ve bee really inspired by your life and your faith that you’ve had since you were a little girl. How precious that is! I’ve been really touched by your words and expansion of scripture too in your posts. I would be keen to see you have less guest speakers, less giveaways and less other distractions…. I think you write beautifully on so many topics theologically and I’d love to see you focus more on this and going deeper into God’s word. I’d love to see you write on anything and everything about apologetics, sharing your faith with your friends and neighborhood and how you encourage your children in their walk with God. Thank you for all the love and encouragement you have poured into all our lives over the past year. I pray for you often, God bless you as your dear family, Nicole

  30. Please not a lot of guest bloggers! I find that when popular bloggers start using guest bloggers all the time, it loses the “voice” of the blog I have come to love.
YES to everything homeschooling and homemaking!!
I’d also be interested in a book club.
Thanks so much for asking us!! I love your blog:) Merry almost Christmas!

  31. Hi again Courtney,

I am reading your book and loving it!
Loved your past vlogs, very inspring, so yes more of those please.
1 or 2 guest posts: but it is your blog, your writing we love!
As a Belgian I can not participate in the giveaways, so for me a “no no”.
It is indeed a joy to read about you, your family, your home: so please continue doing so.
I love book clubs; that is, when and if I can have the book by the time the “actual” book club starts… (lol) πŸ™‚
Book reviews: I am always looking for new books to read on faith, parenting, being a godly women, wife and mom.
I have loved your blog since almost the start of it and keep on loving it!!!
So thank you once again for everything.
I can say: you are truely loved Courtney !

    Abby from Belgium

  32. I love it when your blogposts have pics of your family πŸ™‚ Those are the ones that pull me in and I end up reading more often. Helps to have a real-life connection to the Biblical principles.

  33. Hi, I love hearing bits and pieces about your family life as that’s how I feel I have gotten to know you. You used to share more in the early days and it was through those posts that I liked you as a person and then was happy to trust you on spiritual issues. I don’t like give aways. I find them distracting. I also don’t like guest bloggers. I enjoy your posts as it is your blog. Thank you for your encouragement. Kind regards, Bonita

  34. I find all of what you mentioned interesting. As in much of what I read, some days I enjoy and it hits home. There are days I read something and nothing happens. It was nice. I did a Book study this summer on “Anything”. It was great. I believe as long as you are letting God lead, you will do a wonderful job.

    Merry Christmas and God bless,

PS Nothing wrong with sharing family stuff sometimes.

  35. First, please excuse the random and weirdly specific topics in my post….Hi. So you know what kind of book may inspire me, Ill share a bit of me… I’m one of the strugglers with organization and time, born that way, and learning I can and should grow as a christian and break free from that through Jesus Christ… I have appreciated your contributions from the moment I found you on a social media (FB), and go thankfully to a church which gives the clear gospel. I am in my 4th year as a saved christian, going to the wrong churches which kept me from knowing how I would go to heaven, my whole life til age 40. Though I have “started” and not “finished” each of your books, I am going back more and more to your emails blogs and beginning to get more comfortable with being consistent and building on routines.I find comfort knowing I can always turn to your works and emails when needed. Regarding the online book formats… I do plan to finish each one if I am able to gather them all as I grow in consistency & organization, but at least right now I continue to need them online an as needed basis in one place all the time… your works are timeless, please do keep them that way. I kept inviting people to do them with me, but never any committers. I like the opportunity to open up a fresh email each day, I do not subscribe any longer to any social sites. I am freed from them, feeling they encumbered my time, attention and took me to a different angle that wasnt good for my christian development. Not tech savvy here either, though on computer often during day. Just to share my experiences in life,I’m American, Ive traveled the world, am married to a new American, have had many many miscarriages in my entire adulthood, and yearn at 43 to still have a child, despite much medical investigation and poking and prodding, but if God does not want us to have a child, I also trust Him and know he has His reasons. I have considered fostering or adoption, but my husband is just not comfortable with the non Christian government movements interfering with how we may raise a child through their agencies, etc. We dont feel “desperate” for a child for wrong reasons, and do want a big family at the same time. I moved to an urban area with my dear hubby, and miss the country… I wish for a Gentlemans farm, a place where my husband and I can live in the fresh air and have a few animals and fresh eggs, goats, grow our own food, etc., yet I live in row multifamily housing around countless people who smoke, pollute, and honk angrily, lol, …. I know…. I need to stop wishing and start living thankfully where I’m at. Ive made tremendous strides in the last year… and not…. After getting saved, I developed sudden, unexplainable health problems over the last three years, including an almost deadly reaction to cigarette smoke, even on peoples clothes…. I’m learning to live with them in joy and thankfulness, as is my husband as he journeys with me. I have extending family going through some surprising times of need financially, and one has eve recently affected my credit report by me loaning something to them. All things giving me the precious focus of Christ, the times when I have been most hurting and needing and tuned in to him. I am grateful in that sense for my “thorns in the flesh”. (smiling). I am human though, and have to revisit often there is a reason for everything out of my control, though it is weird I stopped teaching to have a big family with my hubby, and no children are happening, so now do I stay a homemaker?????? My favorite parts from you are when you give me real life situations you are experiencing, and how you grow in the Lord that moment, or day, or week. I know it is general, but you are like my only “”friend” here since moving to a new state. So just hearing the” real you” experiences is helpful.
2.) TTMT sounds like a good idea… please consider the above info for topics.
3.) Regarding guest posters….I prayed for you and just suggest praying on it and making a choice that way.
4.) I LOVE giveaways, but I’m so disorganized and inconsistent and untimely, they just dont seem to work for me. πŸ™‚

    5) I welcome more book clubs, and will try to keep up, but please keep them cumulatively-saved too… for the mes in the world.

6.) Connecting with the sincere parts of your family’s life example is nice.

7.) Regarding frequency, do you wish I had more blog posts in a week or less? more would be great, but no pressure. Less is fine too, just dont go anywhere. πŸ™‚

8.) I want more posts dealing with cultural issues or theological issues regarding core topics of marriage and family…

Thank you for all you do!!!!!!

  36. I am a wife who is really struggling in an unequally yoked marriage. Please help me. I’m so lonely and frustrated.
    I really like your blog.

      1. Thank you Joanna for sharing this link – I LOVE Lynn and Dineen and plan to share about their book in the new year – it was one of my favorite reads of 2014!!! Please Jennifer check out their website and be encouraged!
        Love and ((hugs)) to you!

  37. Good for you! I have been hearing the voice in my head telling me I need to designate more time for quiet and study. I encourage you to do what you do best…help us find strategies to keep all the balls in the air, by prioritizing what’s truly important….God, marriage, family, home…

Re-evaluating my priorities will be front and center in 2014.

  38. love giveaways, would definitely participate in a quarterly book club, that is a great idea! I love your posts, but would welcome guests as well, and the frequency is just right for me. I also like seeing pics of your family, makes it much more personal.

  39. Love reading about marriage and family. My kids are 17 and 21 but still are a big part of my everyday schedule even though they are more independent. Marriage is a daily struggle for me and your post on this has helped me tremendously. Love my husband of 22 years but we work together and this is a added struggle in our marriage. So please more on marriage. I have seen a big difference in my attitude toward my husband just by reading and studying more on marriage. Thank you for sharing your life with me!

  40. Good morning!!
#1). I really enjoyed the whole book!!
#2) I always enjoy your videos. I think talk to me Tuesday is a great idea. Any topics on Marriage or raising Godly children are appreciated πŸ™‚
#3)I like guest posts but mostly what I enjoy is your writing.
#4)Love giveaways! I think you have a good balance with those.
#5) Like to know what you are reading. Don’t necessarily need a scheduled review.
#6)Love to see how real life plays out for your family. Makes you seem more like a real person!
#7)I think you do good with how many posts you have.
#8)I think you have a good balance here as well πŸ™‚
Have a blessed day and week! Keep walking with the King!

  41. Now my head started spinning with what I would like but what lead me to your site was your willingness to follow Christ’s leading. God has his way of giving timely messages that all can glean from. I love your videos (I rewatch them time & time again) The “Opposite World” series was an eyeopener for me (ouch – kinda got on my toes!!) So I will encourage you to let God show you what area & when need to be discussed & how.

  42. My favorite part of your blog is when you discuss things specifically related to being a godly woman (being a homemaker, mom, wife, etc) and studying the Word. Those are areas I struggle in and when I read your stuff it helps a lot.

I also love your videos! It doesn’t matter what it’s about…you’re bubbly personality always uplifts me!

  43. 1.) I have not had a chance to read your book yet, but it seems awesome!
2.) I love your video blogs. I enjoy topics about marriage and keeping a peaceful home.
3.) Guest posters are nice once in a while
4.) I am not really a fan of the giveaways, I could do with less of them.
5.) I do like book reviews because I trust your opinion about what books to put on my reading list.
6.) I LOVE family posts. It’s nice to feel like we get to know you and like you’re a normal mom, wife, homeschooling housewife.
7.) I think 2 times a week is more than enough. I like to have time to think about what I read and I don’t like feeling overwhelmed by not being able to keep up with the posts.
8.) I like the heological issues regarding marriage and family? But throwing cultural issues in once in a while wouldn’t be bad.

    Thanks for writing, Courtney!

  44. Courtney, let me just say thank you for being who you are & living that befor us. I love our post of your life and family pictures. I see Christ in you and it oozes out of everything you do and say! Christ in you is beautiful. Thank you for the idea to color nativity pictures & put in mailboxes of those who have a nativity displayed. We colored 20pictures here in Fultondale Alabama & gave them outin our area to encourage the body of Christ & other believers. I love your giveaways & wouldliketo see more. Could you offer a special to kick off the book club for those who don’t have it yet? I love the recipes you share. Keep up the good work. I know you will hear well done my good & faithful servant, which wil make it all worth it. I love your emails & I look forward to each one as my time with a friend. I love you my sister in Christ & I pray for your continued strength to do what The Lord has caled you to do!

  45. I’ll try and recall all you asked with a highlight of my responses:
First Thankyou for your service to Him and Your Family!

Book Club: As far as a book club-I personnally am so limited in my time these days with teaching, maintaining a home/family and getting time in with My Father that Book reading Clubs are not
something I can put value in my life right now.

Video Clips: love them-I can get such practical and quick insight from them and brings some “realness” to you as a person. I would love to hear your thoughts on balance in this world of doing family/kids, teaching, communicating with friends (social media included) and how do you put limits on things that you know can control your life (such as an hour on Facebook) – this is a struggle for me and would love your thoughts on it.

Guest posts-Maybe once a month is a good perspective of another quest on you blog. One fun idea would be a guest post from one of your readers (part of the giveaway question) on a specific topic or maybe in the life of one of your readers.

Giveaways-Again maybe once a month-do I love them yes-but I don’t want that to be my focus (me driven) One idea for a giveaway would be a getaway with you (maybe to creepy for you)-pick 5 women to go on a w/e retreat of your choice.

Family/personal life-love this, again it makes you realatable in my life and that you struggle with the balance of life as we do with having “real families” Thank you for making your self real!

I think you do a great job with frequency of your posting…

Some final thoughts-I’ve loved when you share organizing tips (such as your calender and life in Homeschooling), what about taking us a tour of your home-we see that beautiful dinning room/kitchen area-love to see how you live elsewhere; what about a blog posting from your kids, husband perspective on a specific thought?

Thanks for allowing our ideas to be “heard” we so appreciate you and your commitment to us:)
    Nancy (Doylestown Ohio)

    1. I LOVE that idea too Nancy of a giveaway prize of meeting you, Courtney. You could call it something like, “Coffee, Christ and Courtney Time.” LOL! Meeting you in person would be AWESOME, but even a video chat via skype or facetime with a cup of coffee or tea would be amazing!

  46. 1.) How exciting! I haven’t read it yet, but I did read the introduction on Amazon and can’t wait to read it all. Thinking back to the last one, the panel videos with several people weren’t as interesting as when only two people have discussed in a video. I think it’s because more people are trying to offer their thoughts. To me that many work better in person rather than in a video. πŸ™‚
2.) There are many topics that I’d like to see in the light of what the Bible has to say on the issue. Serving in the church do’s and don’ts, parenting do’s and don’ts, prayer (balancing all parts)
3.) I like guests, but it’s your blog. Wouldn’t want to hear more from them than you. πŸ™‚
4.) Giveaways are fun, but not necessary for me to keep reading. πŸ™‚
5.) I like book reviews. Tim Challies is one of my favorite reviewers. He has not recommended a few very popular books and I think kept me from ideas that were unbiblical.
6.) I do like when you post about you and your family. You are giving an example of how to live for the Lord in our age which includes regular activities. πŸ™‚
7.) About the same or less if you need to. Some blogs get carried away with multiple posts in a day. Some blogs I follow post daily, but I end up not reading them all.
    8.) Yes to both. πŸ™‚

  47. Your blog was one of the very first I began reading. I remember going through and watching all of your old videos. lol

I have missed your writing. I check periodically, but it’s not been the same.

I would LOVE to have you back. I love your videos and posts. I also really enjoy seeing the behind the scenes, family stuff.

Personally, I don’t ever read book reviews or giveaways on blogs.

    Hope that helps! Merry Christmas!

  48. I love your blog. I have not read your book yet but plan to. Yes to videos, family life and homeschooling we just started Classical tthis year. Big yes to #8. I loved opposite world. Not really interested in guest bloggers and I prefer healthy recipes with natural ingredients. I occasionally like book reviews.. Would like to see more posts from you.

  49. 1. A Book club would be great! I have your book, but it is so hard for me to do any reading for myself during the school year! Just having a way to keep myself on track is something I am looking forward to! Thanks!

    2. I love your hairstyle videos! LOL I also would love ideas on biblical child rearing. I have one 10 year old daughter and I am so afraid I am messing her up – as an only, it’s so hard to teach her generosity and selflessness, but I would love ideas! While I would love to have a big family, it appears that God will not be blessing us in that way, so it is what it is.

    3. I enjoy an occasional guest poster when you need a break, but I really love your posts. πŸ™‚

    4. Giveaways are always fun, just pick my name every once in a while, OK? πŸ˜‰

    5. Book reviews are nice. A book club would be something I could take or leave – like I said, during the school year, reading for pleasure gets put on the back burner because I have to read so much for our homeschool. BUT, having said that, if you did have book clubs, I could skip those posts or read them and glean what I could without reading the book.

    6. I love the family posts! I feel like you and I could be friends if we lived closer! Please don’t stop those. πŸ™‚

    7. More, as long as you don’t get burned out. I understand that it can be draining and I don’t want it to be detrimental to your health or your family time, so it is a “qualified” answer. πŸ™‚ It’s much easier for me to sit here and read than it is for you to write. πŸ˜‰

    8. Yes! I love them all! πŸ™‚

    Merry Christmas!

  50. I am so encouraged by your work! You are a true blessing to so many! I have not read your book but would like to. Giveaways are always great! One thing I struggle with is staying calm when dealing with my teenage and preteen daughters. You’re doing a great job! Thank you so much! Now that I just graduated nursing school I’m looking forward to spending more time following your blog!

  51. Courtney, I started following you after your homeschool videos. I was very encouraged as a stay at home mom, that you and many other women were also pursuing the same path. Your video on (Our Daily Routine) was so encouraging! Very relaxed momma with her kids:) Then, things seem to change. You became very busy / you seemed overwhelmed and tired. I am glad you are finding where God has called you. Just a final thought… Sooo many people follow you, but they do so because of what you not only teach, but you live it. You don’t want to turn into the person that writes and talks about Proverbs 31, and yet, you live a “career” life. If you have a “nervous break down” over stress, it is just what Satan needs to tell over a 100,000 women that this life is not for them. (I enjoy anything to do with the family stuff:)

  52. I love seeing pictures of your family in your ‘fun’ posts. You share about them
So often…they are the heart of your ministry & it’s great to peek into your home life. I started following you when I homeschooled a few years ago & loved all the topics you covered. I hope this year is a breath of fresh air for you as you blog & simplify. Thanks for all your encouraging posts!

  53. I am an “older woman”, and I so wish that I had had a blog like yours to come to when I was a young wife and mother. I enjoy reading and seeing all that you post. It is so encouraging. I am glad that you are so sensitive to God’s leading concerning your priorities. I pray that 2014 will be a peace-filled year for you. Whatever you do make sure that the needs of your family come first! All of the help you give to others is of little value if the devil is able to destroy your family in the process. A woman with a ministry likes yours also needs to spend even more time with God and His Word because the devil will attack with a vengeance.

  54. 1.) Can’t wait for the 8 week WLW book club!! πŸ™‚ I would like to know, HOW to start a book club. That’s one of the areas I wish you wrote more on, was how you to started ministering to other women. I would like to start a book club here but am feeling intimidated and not really sure how do it.

2.) YES! BRING BACK THE VIDEOS!! I really miss the videos! That’s what drew me to your blog in the first place, was your videos. It might sound silly but even the way you dress, do you hair, the accessories you wear minister to me! It inspires me to dress nicely for God, my husband, and myself. “Her clothing is fine linen and purple” And I LOVE seeing it! One of the most encouraging videos was the one were you showed us your clutter and leaky faucet! It showed me you were real and deal with all the same things we do! How do you deal with projects around the house that a husband just might not get to? Where do you get your fashion tips from? Do you look towards other celebrity christian women like Candace Cameron?

3.) Janelle’s posts I LOVE and I agree she shouldn’t go anywhere! She’s the sweetest! But, I wouldn’t mind seeing more posts from you and less from other bloggers.

4.) Who doesn’t like giveaways?!? πŸ™‚ However, I’m not a fan of when the giveaway entry lasts a week. I see entry to win and the winner is announced the next day.

5.) I like book reviews, but would like to see less of them and more of YOUR ministry. I love listening to how God speaks to you. A 4 week book club sounds fun!

6.) It’s your blog, you can post whatever you want! lol πŸ™‚ Just be careful it doesn’t override the point of your ministry, because you might loss readers (I guess I’m speaking for myself now…Your blog really does provide the living water of God’s word and helps young christian women, like myself, to live a better christian life.

7.) I wish you had more video blog posts!

8.) The opposite world segments were great, I got a lot out of that, maybe if you did something similar that?

Thanks for all of your hard work and especially your DEDICATION to us women and your ministry for us! It is SO appreciated and encouraging!!

    Reading from Jersey,

  55. WOW! Totally, should’ve spelled and grammar checked that before I clicked, ‘Post Comment’ YIKES! Sorry about that.

  56. 1. For me, my favorite part of your book were the sections on marriage and our personal walk with God.

    2. Areas I personally am struggling with that I could benefit more on learning…. self control, having a gentle heart, not allowing hormones to affect my mood and maybe balance?

    3. LOVE Ms. Janelle. Other than her, I would prefer less guest bloggers.

    4. Less giveaways.

    5. Love reviews. Not sure about the book club. It would depend on the book.

    6. I love your family posts and pics. It shows how you live out what you teach and your family is so precious! It makes you very real! Please keep sharing them.

    7. More!!!!! I am always excited to see a new blog post from you. Daily would be great for me!

    8. Yes- I can always use guidance in marriage and parenting.

Thank you for all you do for us, Courtney! Praying you have a precious Christmas and joyous New Year!

  57. Love your site! I love receiving your blog and I’d love to get it 2 or 3 times a week, it is so encouraging. I’d love to hear more on spiritual parenting, family time ideas, home organization, marriage. I’m half way through you book and it is wonderful. God has given you such great gift of writing and communicating with others. You have blessed so many with this gift and I thank you for it. I love that you are at peace with your decision to slow down and focus more on your blog. Sometimes it can be so hard to stay balanced, but it sounds like you are on the right path!

  58. I’m one of those stay-at-home wives and mom of two girls, 1 and 3, who doesn’t feel like I have much time to read much less comment. But here’s what I offer. I’m going back through your book again and really enjoying it and learning from it- goes very well with my need to prioritize and focus on what’s important in my time crunched schedule. Priorities is my word for 2014 (ok it’s been my word for a while but my time to even focus on what my priorities are let alone on them is hopefully going to improve).

  59. I feel so blessed God has led me to you. I look forward to anything you post! We are new (2nd year) to homeschooling and brand new to CC. joe is 11 Elizabeth is 8. I am also new on my spiritual path:) I have always been a believer, but am new to studying the bible. I love the hible studies.
It would be great if you could share more details on how you orgsnize school everyday ESPECISLLY CC. I am going to start tutoring in January and will appteciate any ideas to makr class more fun (journeyman class). Also the book . lub is a great idea as is ANY family pics or stories. it helps to know us hs moms are not alone. Discipline ideas are appreciated too. We are still “deprogramming” from public school/pop culture attitudes. Now that I have decided to guide my children on this Christian education walk (hike), I feel like we are totally outnumbered sometimes by nonbelievers and weird for raising our moral bar. Anywsy, yes to all your ideas. A weekly video is inspiring too:) Thank you Courtney! You are special:)

  60. 1.) I am in the middle of reading your book and would love to go through a book study with you.
2.) Marriage, family, kids, biblical life application
3.) I think you have a great mix of your post and guests
    4.) Giveaways are always fun
5.) I think a book club (maybe two or three books a year) on topics such as marriage and kids would be great. I love hearing what others learn from a book…it gives me a different perspective.
6.) I love to see posts/pics from your family life.
7.) Sometimes I wish there were more
    8.) Yes!

  61. Hi Courtney! I love your blog I have followed it for 2 years now and look forward to it so much. I was not raised in a Christian home so I learn a lot from you and love seeing your family pics and posts as well. I love Janelle’s recipes and her blog as well. I LOVE the idea of a book club. I’m always wanting new reads, but wanting to make sure they are legitimate. I would love more videos from you. I think you have a gift of speaking to women. I’m so glad you are putting this as a priority it just makes me love this blog even more than I already did! I would love more topics on biblically addressing addiction and sin within a marriage, how to keep growing in your faith, and more on how to read the bible and do your own devotions. I would also love some guest posts about properly cleaning the home, maybe from Karen Ehman. Also, I LOVE the opposite world topics – puts things into perspective! πŸ™‚ Thank you for what you do!!

  62. 1) I read the book and loved it. I wish you had written more on blogging, and I wish there had been more for single women. I know single women can implement some of the ideas in the book, but it focused a lot on marriage and parenting
    2) I would love you to cover finances in Talk To Me Tuesdays
    3) I love guest posts. Don’t change anything there.
    4) I don’t mind giveaways, but I never know if I can enter since I live in Australia. I’m not fussed.;
    5) I LOVE book reviews!! Do as many of them as you would like!! A book club is good too.
6)Again, I love it when you post about your family. It makes me feel more like a friend than a reader, and sometimes it’s fun just to read about you and not have to really think about what you’ve written (does that make sense?)
    7) I wish you had more blog posts in a week
    8) What you post is good. But again, sometimes I wish there was some focus on us single girls.

All in all, keep it up!! I read every post. You seem to have a good balance between different topics too.

  63. 1. I haven’t read your book, but hope to soon. I’d be very interested in a book club to hear, especially, stories of women who’s lives are changed as they submit in obedience to Jesus Christ and His ways. I’m assuming that this would be a part of what would come out of it because that’s just how God works! So, I guess for me, in a book club, I’d love to see a place for women to declare what God has done.
    2. One topic I’d love to see you cover on Tuesdays, is easy Bible study tips (I think a lot of women are intimidated by opening their Bible). Ways and things we can do if we have 5 minutes to read, or 5 HOURS!
    3. I think guest writers are great! It shows a unity of the body of Christ that I think would declare His glory.
    4. Giveaways are totally fun…maybe 1/quarter? I don’t know.
    5. Love book reviews! I think my tendency is to want to be in the WORD, so what do you think about a book club surrounding a book of the Bible?
    6. Love family stuff!
    7. Maybe once a day…but themed so that only one or two days are longer and deeper?
    8. I loved your opposite world posts. Love, love, loved them! So I guess, yes, I’d love to hear about cultural and theological issues.
Your blog really is a light on a hill compared to many lovely bloggers who might shy away from sharing blatant truth which is so opposite from the world’s views. I’m sure your stand has rewarded you with more than your share of heat, but I applaud you and stand with you as you declare who God is, and His truth. Many crowns are coming your way, I’m sure. And I’m also sure, that with all of the saints, those crowns are going to just be tossed back at the feet of Jesus. Thank you, for standing faithfully, and look forward to what God will be doing at WLW this next year!! I have no doubt it’s going to be AWESOME!

  64. Here is my 2-cents :o)

    1) Haven’t read the book
    2) Although I have been married for 30-years, I enjoy reading about your marriage and the work you put into the marriage.
    3) I personally don’t care for β€œguest” posts as I come to your blog to read what you have to say. (I don’t mean this in a bad way, just giving my opinion)
    4) Giveaways don’t matter to me as I seldom enter.
    5) Book reviews are just β€œso-so”.
    6) Yes, I really enjoy reading about your family. This gives us a peek into your life and how you run your house and teach your kids; I too home school.
    7) Yes, I miss reading your blog on the days you do not post.
    8) I enjoy reading about both marriage and family.

  65. This post makes me very happy! You have been such an encouragement to me in my walk with the Lord, my marriage, parenting and homemaking. I came across your blog and have been a following for going on 4 years now.
    1. I Loved your book, it has been life changing for me. I can honestly say I enjoyed every chapter!
    2. I enjoy your videos so much! I will sometimes play them on my iPad while I clean, and carry it around and be encouraged while I get things done.
    3. I am good with either way
    4. Give aways are always nice
    5. Interest me
    6. I Love seeing your pictures and post on family, it is like looking at pictures with a friend πŸ™‚
    7. More
    8. Cultural, you do a great job with this!

  66. I am so excited for the new year at Women Living Well!
    1. Your book is on my Christmas list so starting a book club in January would be perfect timing for me!
    2. I love videos. I find your quick tips – about how to teach a spiritual concept to your kids, hair tips, homeschooling, how to be a godly wife, etc all very encouraging. Your blog posts are awesome, but sometimes I see myself navigating towards your videos to get even more of that Courteney energy and encouragement.
    3. Guest posts can offer points of views that you haven’t had to experience so I find them okay.
    4. Who doesn’t love free stuff?!
    5. If you REALLY love a book, I want you to share. But, only if you would HIGHLY recommend it.
    6. Love the family posts. I am a newlywed wife (married 15 months) with a 4 month old daughter and find it encouraging to see how you handle life as a wife and mom. Especially love stuff about how you teach your kids things – even the fun idea about looking for the nativity in Christmas lights.
    7. I would love a daily blog, but as a blogger myself, I know this can take a lot of time. If it works into your work/life balance, weekday blogging would be awesome.
    8. I’m okay with this. Would really love more on how you handled wife/mother situations with babies/young kids since that is where I am in life right now and seems to be it’s own unique time of life – i.e. how to make your husband a priority when you have a infant who has to be cared for constantly, how did you handle your household responsibilities and being a mom of young kids, etc.

  67. Your blog is great! You are inspiring to me even though I am much older. Love to hear about your family love. Keep up the great work. You bless may lives.

  68. 1. I really like the idea of a Book Club
    2. The video series is a good idea. People will come up with ideas as soon as that starts I am sure. I personally love to hear about your walk with God, how you care for your home and family.
    3. Guest posts are good once in a while
    4. Giveaways are awesome!
    5. Book reviews are a good idea-they introduce me to books I would have otherwise not considered. A quarterly 4 week book club would interest me.
    6. I agree that your family posts give us a sneak peek into your life so we feel like we “know” you in a sense.
    7. Quality over quantity. If it is too much to post daily, I would say every other is okay
    8. You do an awesome job of wording the cultural side of things through the theological (opposite world) so I would say a combination of both.

  69. Courntey I love your blog! I would like to see more posts during the week. Love the videos, keep them coming. I liked the opposite world series. Maybe more posts on how to raise godly children, i dont care about giveaways too much. I like book reviews. Guest posts maybe like twice a month. Basically everuthing you have done but maybe try 3 times a week to post on the blog if you could, would be awesome!! Thanks for your hard work πŸ™‚

  70. wow, bless your heart and good for you, I know it isn’t easy to slow down, I don’t think as moms we are programmed to do that. I have not read your book yet but am going to do and an 8 week study would be amazing I could do it with a group from my church , I love your “just fun family” post makes you real and I connect with that! I love when you have guest bloggers because I am just strting out and you women inspire me to keep going where God has lead me! And giveaways come on who doesn’t like a giveaway!! I do wish I had more blogs from you, I just love your way with words! And your video blogs are my favorite!! Keep praying, he will lead you in the right direction! Grace ~Ashlie-Marie

  71. Just wanted to say thank you for all that you do to minister to everyone! I was so bummed that I couldn’t make your conference, and was so excited when you broadcast it online. I loved your book too!

  72. Hi Courtney, thank you for clearing your schedule for us! There are so many other wonderful blogs out there, but I’ve had to unsubscribe to most simply because I don’t have the time to read them all. Your blog is what I always read first, because I feel I can relate to you the most. Please don’t stop writing “fun” posts about your personal life and family. It’s what keeps you real to me. I’ve never felt that you were bragging about your life in any way-you always are honest with your weaknesses and struggles. There are some “braggy blogs” out there, and yours is not one of them! I don’t think you should write more often, because it would be hard for me to keep up with and would probably drain you pretty quick. I love any videos that you make because I watch(listen) to them as I work around the house. I have a few topic suggestions for “Talk to me Tuesdays”:
    1. Moral dilemmas-I know this should be a no brainer, but here’s an example: my neighbor is of a lifestyle I do not agree with. He and his “companion” parted ways after being together for 30 years. As my neighbor was telling me this, he started to cry. He was hurting. He lost someone he cared for. I couldn’t help but cry with him. I liked them both-they were nice pleasant neighbors. Am I wrong for crying, since I believe that lifestyle is sinful? What should I have said in that situation? Some people have told me, “well, that’s what he gets for living in sin”. I guess I didn’t see him at that moment as a “sinner who is deserving of pain”, but as a hurting human being.
    2. How to deal with difficult people who criticize, judge and condemn, especially when they are Christians; some being family members.

Also, maybe some specific ideas on how to teach our children to serve others (service project ideas). And maybe some talk about femininity in general, aside from being a wife and mother.
    Thank you so much Courtney!

  73. I adore your writing style and read every blog post of yours, Courtney. I love seeing your heart and faith through them, and they inspire me to get into the Word and trust God. Topics (for videos or blogs) I enjoy most are: if there’s a verse that spoke to you and hearing your reflections on it; how to draw nearer to God – ways to incorporate Scripture, and ways to refresh our prayer life; what Godly discipline looks like; ways to encourage our marriages; helping to grow our children’s faith in Christ. I enjoy seeing your family pictures and stories. The frequency of your posts is great – I enjoy reading them whenever you send them. Giveaways are fun, and the frequency of your giveaways is fine -these aren’t the reason I follow your blog. I really relate to your blog because of the down-to-earth way you express your heart and your faith, and our journey as Christ-followers, women, wives, and moms. I’ve just started reading your book and love it. Thank you for encouraging us through your gift of writing! Many blessings to you.

  74. #1 Teach us more about the bible. Take us to different places and times.

#2 I don’t care if there are giveaways, its just more work and more time wasted on the computer running around liking and following and pinning. That’s NOT why I’m a faithful reader here.

#3 Taking care of our husbands and families and homes are the most important to me.

#4 Keep it the same, that’s why we’re here in the first place!!!!! Please don’t change.

#5 I would love a study on your book. I bought the book right away and I’ve been praying, praying, you would do a study with us!

It was your videos Courtney that drew my attention, then drew me to your website. You helped me let God back into my life and I am so, so humbled and grateful.

  75. I’ll pick a few questions:

2.) I am SO happy you will be back with videos. As someone that has followed your blog for a while now, this was what I missed most! They really bring your ministry to life and it is so fun to see your personality shine. I loved the topics on marriage, especially. I would love to hear you address topics on ministry, time management, women friendships/fellowship and how to handle offense/conflict that can arise between women (this is so prevalent!), and more videos on marriage/family. Love them!

6.) I love seeing your real life in the blog. Keep that coming…it does not come across as narcissistic at all…but shows a real woman in ministry living a real life! LOL. It connects me as a reader and it is so fun!

7.) More posts! Even short posts with pictures are great!

8.) I would love more posts on real issues in the church. I would enjoy hearing about issues you have faced and what solutions you used to solve problems in ministry, friendships, marriage, etc.

  76. Love your blog and it sure fulfils the purpose of its spiritual intent.. W.L.W
Also we are real people from all different walks of life, yet headed in the same direction.
I enjoy reading about your everyday life happenings and seeing photos too!
I think the amount you post currently is fine ( you initiate what you feel is manageable for you)
    Suggestions for blog/video topics
.Homeschooling – education methods, What is the purpose of Christian education?
.parenting – ensuring our children have been given a solid foundation to build their faith upon Christ.
.Godly biblical marriage – theological and cultural – needs both!
.Recomendations of helpful books you suggest for our library
.Women growing in spiritual maturity. How to be a Wife, Mother, Christian all at the same time
.Cliques within the church & christian circles. How to deal with and respond to prideful, attitudes

    Have a blessed Christmas!

  77. I am brand new to your blog and have enjoyed the last couple of weeks. I really liked the idea of a book club based on each book in the Bible. Every word in the Bible is there for us however, some books ( & passages) are easier to digest while others are a bit tough to chew. I can’t seem to get enough of the Word and find myself reading, reading and reading more. I’d like help bringing things into better focus.

  78. 1. I love the idea of a book club! I’m about 1/2 through your book right now and it has been so refreshing and made me think about what I need to do to change and improve my life and my marriage.
    2. I unfortunately don’t get to watch the short videos very often because of the quiet retail store I own where videos would be disruptive to others.
    3. Guest posts are nice every now and then but I prefer stability and consistency in knowing you will be the one writing most days. I do look forward to what Janelle has every week and follow her blog as well so please don’t take her off!
    4. I am not a big fan of giveaways, but probably because I never win ;). Actually, it is nice for others to receive things as long as it doesn’t become something done so often it feels like a raffle blog instead of a blog full of insight and helpful, encouraging words.
    5. I love the book club idea (see #1)
    6. I love seeing your real life pictures and stories. It helps me to relate to you even more and feel like we are friends even though we haven’t met.
    7. I think the number of blog entries you post are sufficient and just the right amount.
    8. These topics always interest me!

  79. I literally copied Jen (who I do not know but agree with!) πŸ™‚

    Book club- Not so much
Guest posters – on a RARE occasion but I come to your blog for you not others
    Video blogs -love
Family blog posts and pics – love
Would like to hear more about studying the Bible, prayer time, routines and such. Marriage and parenting issues, keeping house and so on.
    Thanks for asking.
Also, I like new ideas for what to read but already have tons on my “to read” stack so I am fine with occasional “great reads” and I would say 2-3 a week is good since I also read lots of other blogs.
Thanks again for asking us! Leesa

  80. love the idea of a book club. I didn’t have the advantage of growing up in a spiritual home. Ideas or posts about that would help me out. I am new at being in the bible. Like really reading the bible. I have been back in church for nine years. Also how to encourage a husband who needs to lead the family but doesn’t. How to draw your kids into getting excited about God’s word. I have seven children ( ages 17 to 1) When we try to do devotions, it seems everybody is everywhere or has the attitude of really not wanting to be there. I really like your blog. It is full of ideas, encouragement, and love. Thanks for that

  81. Well you asked and I see people answered…there are a couple things I wish I could read more about..First would have to be submission..I want to submit to my husband, I want my husband to lead our family but he just dont, I don’t know if he just doesn’t know how or wants to take the back seat and let me do all the “Christian” things that I feel need to be done…and the second would be resourses for husbands where they could learn how to follow God and lead a family….

Thanks Courtny for all you do..I look forward to getting emails, looking on Facebook for your encouraging words and thougts…keep doing what God has called you to do…

  82. Hi Courtney! I’ve enjoyed your blog for several year now! I love the idea of doing videos every Tuesday! I don’t really like guest posts bc I come to your blog to hear from you. But I understand life is busy and you many need others to help! πŸ™‚ Giveaways are fun. I would love to see more book reviews! But I love to read and always enjoy hearing trusted reviews in books. I enjoy seeing you post about your family life. Like to know that you are real and like to see what’s going on in your life. πŸ™‚ and 10,000 time yes to more theological and marriage things!! That’s why I started visiting your blog and why I continue to!! πŸ™‚ you are a great Titus 2 woman! I look up to you so much as a young wife and have learned so much from you over the years! I started reading before I got married and learned a lot! Now I really enjoy you posts on Godly marriage now that it am married πŸ™‚ thank you for all you do!!
    Love in Christ,

  83. I’m so glad you plan to spend more time with us in 2014. Love love love the idea of a book club and guest bloggers and you blogging more. and I really love when you make video’s for us…….. Ohhhh heck I love it all hehehhee

    Have a very Merry CHRISTmas,

  84. Hello & thanks again for all your writing. It’s good you are focusing on what energizes you most. I have learned the hard way that saying β€œno” to too many extra projects is the only way to stay successful long term. Thanks for reminding me!

1 Book clubs are nice. I don’t have time for them at this point in my life though.

2 I don’t really watch your newer videos, although that’s what brought me to your blog in the first place.

3 Guest post are ok, but not too much. Like others have said before me, I come to your blog to read what YOU have written.

4 Giveaways don’t really do much for me. If other people really like them they don’t really bother me either. Just not too often.

5 I like hearing about what other people are reading.

6 I heard a talk once where they were saying something to the effect of how part of ministry is your marriage itself. It is a witness to how God is working in your life. Christian marriage is a spiritual vocation. There is a genuine happiness that I see in your pictures and more people need to see what that looks like.

7 If you posted 3x more I would read it, but that’s just because blogs are my thing. This frequency is good. Quality > quantity.

8 Lately I’ve been more interested in homeschooling. Any posts on how you make it work for your family would be interesting.

  85. Hi Courtney,
I have been blessed by your ministry and inspired. I appreciate all the blogs & vlogs. I am a homeschool mom of two boys and anything that the Lord puts on your heart to share about being a women who walks with the King will be a blessing.

  86. 1) I enjoy book clubs and have wanted to read your book. I especially enjoy book clubs about books that will grow me as a Christian, wife, mother, and homemaker/homeschooler.

    2) I like your videos a lot and would love to see more of them. I would love to see more videos on homeschooling and homemaking.

    3) I like guest posts, but like others said prefer to hear more of you. I can hear others on other blogs.

    4) I’m not too interested in giveaways.

    5) I love book discussions/reviews especially if they are books that help me grow. I would love a book club.

    6) Yes, I like to see that the people that blog are “real.” I do occasionally also like when bloggers show they’re not perfect. Some of us can struggle with blogger envy. I love seeing families that are godly and happy and also real.

    7) I think whatever frequency you can post without it disrupting the rest of your life is great. A few times a week seems to be good for most blogs.

    8) I would love to see more posts about homeschooling and how you do it with your family and also ideas for fun family traditions and ways to integrate Bible lessons into everyday life with our children.

  87. Hi Courtney,

I really love reading your blog! You reliably point the way to Jesus instead of to anything else which is why I keep reading:)
My favorite part of your book was hearing about parts of your life that I hadn’t read in your blog, and practical advice for homemaking.
I love your videos! The ones I love the most are to do with parenting/discipline techniques, and ones explaining parts of the bible.
I love Janelle’s recipes but I would love to see more of your blog posts.
The giveaways aren’t what draw me!
I do love seeing your family – I don’t think it’s narcissistic, but I get so much out of the posts you do about spiritual topics – I would love to see more of them:)
Looking forward to the next year of WLW!!

  88. #1- a book club would put a hardship on me. i do not ask my husband to buy things for me so this would be uncomfortable for me.
#2-we would love the talk to me tuesday series. husband and wife studying tips. and great daily verse ideas for couples. sex issues.
#3-no guest posters. we like just you
#4-the giveaway idea is nice to be able to get stuff for free, but we think people should be here for spiritual growth rather than just for goodies.
#5- we would probably not enjoy a book club. my husband and i read all books together. he reads them out loud to me so we can both learn and grow at our own pace. i love to read but to hear my husband read to me is such a blessing.
#6-we love to hear about your family.
#7-whether you did one post or twenty doesn’t really matter. its what the holy spirit tells you and guides you to teach us.
#8- we personally feel that your love for God and your family is what drew us to you in the first place.

My husband has a nickname that he always calls you its so sweet!! he calls you bubbly!

  89. I like seeing your family activities. It helps me connect with you.
I came to the site/blog looking for family advice: marriage, parenting, maintaining friendships and taking care of the home. I definitely want it to be theologically sound and appreciate all the ideas and encouragement. I would also like spiritual discussions just for my own growth (along with helping my marriage grow, helping my kids grow spiritually).

Thanks for sharing your life with us and working to inspire and bring us closer to God!

  90. 1.) I solidly believe everyone’s favorite part of the book is the part they most need work on πŸ™‚ and whatever area that is, they welcome more in depth talk and repetition for improvement.
2.) I am curious how you decide when enough children is enough? I realize for some a certain number is not even a choice. I have fairly easy pregnancies and another child would not hurt us physically, emotionally, financially, or spiritually so should we leave the final count up to God? Thoughts on birth control? I know this is a touchy subject! But interested in Biblical view of it all πŸ™‚
3.) Love Janelle! and you πŸ™‚
4.) Giveaways are nice and probably attract newcomers but they are not a necessity.
5.) Would love book reviews! Book clubs can be fun too.
6.) I think your real life posts are great! They help us relate to you as a real, genuine person! Not just some virtual, untouchable woman on the web!
    7.) i like your frequency πŸ˜‰ lol
    8.) Yes! yes!!!

  91. I love idea of book club. Weekly video/blog about book would be ideal. I have not read your book yet..(I’m 99% sure I am getting it for Christmas…lets just say I gave A LOT of BIG hints that I want it)! lol
I do videos. It helps me connect to you, topics I would enjoy seeing are being in ministrty (i’m a p.w.), finding joy int he little things, how to start a blog..(yes Ive thought about it)! lol
    I do enjoy guest posters.
Giveaways are fun….even tho I don’t win….always happy for those who do win tho! It is just the excitement!
Book reviews would be good. I’m always on the lookout for the latest Christian book.
I love to read and see pics of your family. I feel more connected to you that way.
Daily blog posts are great. Anything more than that, it is hard to keep up with.
Cultural and theological topics are needed.

  92. Would love to see you on more…less guest writers (except for Janelle!), book reviews if you really love the books, love the family pics! Don’t really care about give aways. I would love to see more on current issues we deal with as Christians in today’s world, with Biblical verses to back up the views. Subjects I would like to see more of…marriage, hospitality, dealing with loneliness, current news and how to deal with it, homemaking, frugality, even what you do in your “down” time ( crafting? biking? picnics?) If you do have guest writers, would love to see a few address the “older” woman…the ones whose kids are grown, who might work part time or be retired, even how to deal physically with getting older. Might also like to see people who deal with health problems tell how they cope with things. Thanks for asking!

  93. 1.) I am not finished reading your book, so I would LOVE to do a book study on it!
2.) Talk to Me Tuesday sounds GREAT! I could use help in several areas… organization, scheduling, meal planning, house cleaning, communication with my husband, staying motivated in all that I need to do as a homeschooling mom to 4 and as a wife and homemaker. Here is a specific question…. How do I fit in home projects, like organizing the basement, mending walls and painting, and such into my year?
3.) I like YOUR posts most of all. That’s why I signed up to receive them. But, once in a while, if you need a break, a guest post is okay for a change.
4.) I LOVE give aways. I’ll take them whenever you want to give them! LOL.
5.) I like book reviews. I homeschool, so am always looking for great books for me and my kids. I also love to read, so am always looking for good books for myself. If I have the book, a book club would be great. It keeps me accountable to finishing my books!
6.) I enjoy reading about your family. It inspires me to make mine a bigger focus. And, love the pictures, too.
7.) Your blog is one of the only blogs I read regularly, so post as many as you’re able. I love reading them.
8.) I like your posts dealing with cultural and theological issues regarding marriage and family. I wouldn’t mind seeing more about how you organize your day, make all you have to do fit, and still have time for the ministry aspect. I mean, sleep is important to me, I just don’t know how you do it all! But, you do inspire me to be better, to seek the Lord more, and to be a better mom and wife.

Thank you for all your work, for slowing down so you can minister more to us. I look forward to what is to come.

  94. So glad so many shared their thoughts….
Topics about strenthening relationships to grow with one another, not only within family circle but also in reaching out in church family or community. We need to shine everywhere…
    Give away is nice …
    Book review is also helpful
HOW TOs or DIY things can be exciting
And maybe something that will light up our days likr funny story days or humor day – we need to laugh too.
And concerns day…whatever, like a prayer day?

Yes, you may have some guests like in HOW TOs…or sharing from sisters all over as in humorous or funny stories…etc…

Moreblessings Sister as you bless the world…live well….am with you in prayers!

  95. Courtney,

I think a book club would be fun. It is nice to read a book and be able to get others’ thoughts about the topics. I just got your book and look forward to finding some time while traveling to read it. It would be great to have you lead a discussion in the new year.

I don’t care too much for vlogs- I often am catching up on my reading while in the car line at school or waiting for a kid’s activity to finish- videos are a bit difficult to enjoy or access in those situations for me. I usually just enjoy reading. The vlogs are not hugely important to me.

I really love hearing about you and your family. You are a real mom – no false pretenses- real family and kid issues. Raising kids in this culture is hard- harder than when we were young. So hearing about how you and your family are living life is a huge blessing.

Thanks for sharing! I am really grateful that I found your site since moving to NE Ohio and so glad I was have able to participate in the conference. Thanks again for your ministry. God has gifted you in a mighty way. God Bless you and your family this Christmas and in the New Year!

  96. Guest posting is ok, but truthfully, I’d rather have you! (Although, of course, I love Janelle’s recipes! I’m glad she won’t be going anywhere. :))

I also love your vlogs. Maybe you could use those to address a reader’s question/dilemma or some other issues? It seems like many things that other people are going through, apply to us. (Or at least we can learn from them!)

Giveaways are not at all necessary.

I love hearing about your life! Even though it may feel narcissistic to you, I’m still inspired and learning things by it! (Example: I liked seeing your tradition of your children wearing mom’s/dad’s outfit every year. That’s something I might try with my family. πŸ™‚

And yes to #8! Those issues are what attracted me to your blog in the first place. πŸ™‚

Thank you for what you do!

  97. 1. Not in to book clubs
2 Love the idea of Talk Tues video – real relevant issues with a 3-5 minute solution of what the bible says about the tough things women are going through. Ideas might include: keeping romance alive, dealing with strong will children and NOT feeling like a failure, dealing with hard times and knowing “this too shall pass”, what to do when leaders in your church aren’t leading, staying grounded and still relevant in community involvement, shining your light to attract others as you’re involved in public school policy – kids classroom etc, HELP for working moms, mealtime prep, time mgt etc.
    3. YES to guest bloggers and giveaways
    4. 1 a week is good for me πŸ™‚
    5. As a working mom, all the hats we wear to be current, wise, involved, keeping marriage alive, measuring success/goals, feeling torn between a career & motherhood is always a HOT topic. How to counsel our friends whose marriage is being dissolved without being too preachy, FINDING BALANCE and how to make biblical principles apply to the fast paced 2014 world!!! i like hearing about struggles and when you share ways you’ve overcome them…1,2,3 tips etc…
Thanks for sharing your convictions and being true to them! May God bless you RICHly. MARY Christmas!

  98. 1.) Since I was not raised in a bible-reading, Jesus seeking home, insights into your actual day-to-day are very helpful.
2.) For Tuesdays – I need help with some of my family members who are not believers. They twist scripture and make it hard to explain the faith.
3.) I think guest posters can be helpful if they have a similar vision.
4.) Giveaways are always great – who doesn’t love free stuff? Just make it once or twice a month though.
5.) It’s so hard to do an online book study – I lead a real life ladies group for book studies (we’re actually considering your book next).
6.) I think its nice to see pics to help get to know you better – maybe once a month with the family updates.
7.) Regarding frequency – I think two or three posts a week is plenty
8.) I need posts that deal with cultural issues or theological issues regarding marriage and family

I could also use some posts on discipling children. Thank you for your ministry!

  99. – Not into book clubs or video series because I like to read & reflect at my own pace.
    – Guest bloggers are great, but I also love your posts!
    – Love when you reviewed your favorite books.
    – Love family posts – real life is an inspiration & definitely brings me back to Christ’s goodness & grace.
    – Weekly posts are great, but if you need more time in between less is good too!
    – Yes yes to more posts on cultural or theological issues.

Honestly, I don’t see the inside life of many remarkable Christian women and anything you can teach/show about your life is a light for Christ.

  100. I love the idea of a book club! I’ve read your book but can definitely benefit to diving into it again.

For me, the one area that I struggle with is children. It’s hard for me to read and relate on areas of parenthood when I’m not a mother myself. It would be great to hear how to be a Godly woman even if children are not part of the picture.

I think most of us hear about cultural and theological issues but don’t dig deeper into understanding so this would be great to include.

  101. Courtney,
I enjoy reading your blog posts and I am inspired by you and your ideas. I have participated in book discussions before and they are great, but it’s not fitting into my schedule right now(but that’s ok). As for the Video Tuesday’s- here is a hang up for me- with my internet- it takes forever to load a video and is choppy- I would rather sit down and read your posts than have to wait for a video to load in a very choppy manner. I enjoy your guests posts as sometimes I begin to follow them too. I enjoy giveaways once in a while. I enjoy seeing your family and things that you are doing with them – it makes mine seem normal even when it has been a super crazy busy week. Frequency- well I don’t always sit down to my computer each and every day. I sometimes read 4 or 5 posts at a time, but I do read them- so do what works for you and where the Lord leads you!

  102. You are SUPER busy, so I think more peaceful would be great!! I love the personal touches–really, you seem like a friend or sister, so why wouldn’t I want to know what’s up with you?? I like giveaways, myself, even if I don’t win very often. I really don’t have a lot of time whrer I can access videos–I read my emails at work, so videos are not so important to me. I would love more discussion of theological concepts. I am a working mother myself, and praying I can get my 4 year old into the kindergarten in the Christian school our church runs–we missed the boat on preschool (we are in the Deaf missions worship, so we don;t always get all the information the hearing folks get)., so I am very interested in raising a good Christian boy.

I love your blog, and it brightens my week!

  103. First, and foremost, thank God for your Courtney. Your ministry has been such a blessing in my life and I’m blessed to be in this faith journey with you friend. (Cheers to a Peace that Surpasses Understanding!).

1.) I haven’t read the book yet, so I might add that to my 2014 reading list.
2.) Talk to Me Tuesday – First, great title. Second, God has put on my heart for over a year now (which I haven’t acted on yet) to start my own blog (about my personal faith), an online community platform (for people with broken pasts/presents), and write a book. I’d love your thoughts (and prayers).
3.) Janelle’s recipes might be my downfall but keep ’em coming!!! I do love your honesty and writing style, but also enjoy the guest posts.
4.) Giveaways are a kind gesture but don’t matter to me.
5.) Book club, SUPER YES! I’ve always want to be a book club and I’d love to read your book reviews (from one book worm to another)!
6.) I love your family posts and they’ve actually helped me to begin conquering a “lie” in my life (you know, the comparison game thing). You’re such a blessing with wearing your heart on your sleeve and seeing how God has blessed you gives me hope and also represents a picture of a family chasing God.
7.) Publish as many blog posts as you want! I’m all “ears”!
8.) I’d love to hear more cultural and theological issues and apply scripture to real world issues.

May God bless your family and ministry! Peace be with you and good tidings for a wonderful 2014!

  104. Hi Courtney,
I’m excited that you are simplifying.
    Here’s my 2 cents! πŸ™‚
I don’t really like guest posts, other than Janelle’s. They feel cluttery to me. Same with giveaways, so I’d say do none of those.
    Book reviews, less of those.
I don’t like the idea of a quarterly, 4-week Book Club. I have enough to do and my reading list is already long.
I like your posts about family stuff (pics aren’t always necessary) and happenings in your real life. Those are relaxing and fun.
Regarding frequency, I’d prefer less blog posts in a week. 2 posts a week would be plenty and give you more time for your primary ministry – your home.
I would like to see your blog be simpler without all the β€œpizazz” that is so prevalent (and trendy) in Blog Land. I cringe at all the give aways, book clubs, etc. It’s just too much and even a bit emotionally exhausting. That’s it! Thanks for hearing me and God bless you. πŸ™‚

  105. Book clubs – depends on the book – not a huge fan
Book reviews – keep them short
Giveaways – there are too many out there now
Talk To Me Tuesday sounds good! Branching out to various topics is good – and most topics can be brought back around to relate to family issues.
I like that your WLW link up is only one day per month now
Blog post frequency – whatever the Lord puts on your heart to write about – if it’s a topic that doesn’t interest or pertain to me that day, I just skip it.
Guest posts – YES – Keep Janelle! Others are ok occasionally – but we read your blog for your input
One thing that I personally don’t like is when you (or other bloggers – just so you know it’s not personal) are guests on another blog. You write your blog and then I have to click to another blog to finish reading yours. I realize that the purpose is to introduce other bloggers. But I just want to read the post – not link elsewhere – just one of my pet peeves!
Family posts – After reading someone’s blog for awhile, you almost feel like you are “family” – so it’s fun to get a glimpse into your personal life. But certainly don’t do it at the expense of your family.
With all of that said – Merry Christmas! Thanks for all you do in this ministry to women!

  106. I really enjoy your blog and look forward to reading each new post. I think God wants us all to SLOW down and enjoy Him rather than what He has created. I believe that is why people struggle so much. They try to substitute a relationship with God with other things.
    1. I have gleaned so much from your book and I think a book club would be great!
    2. Vblogs would also be great. I am an auditory learner and anything I can hear is a blessing.
    3. I think guest post that pertain to an issue are nice, but I really like your wisdom the best. πŸ™‚
    4. Giveaways are fun as long as they are fun for you and don’t have you running ragged.
    5. Book reviews are nice but I don’t have a lot of extra time to read these days!!!
    6. Yes, anything pertaining to the family: child training, finances, marriage, respect, relationships, God and His word, obedience, love, ect.
7.I would like one everyday but that depends are YOUR schedule not mine. I want this to be an accent to your life, not a ball-and-chain. lol πŸ™‚
    I hope this helps!!!
    By Grace Alone,

  107. 1.) I just started reading your book, and so FAR I love it. I usually read it while nursing the baby at 2AM, when my mind is clear from the day. I think I book study would be wonderful!
3.) I like guest posters sometimes, but I will be honest, sometimes I just scroll past guest authors on other blogs I read.
    4.) Who doesn’t LOVE giveaways πŸ˜‰
5.) I enjoy reading in depth book reviews, and I would like short book clubs. I am a book lover, however with a 7 month old I don’t really get time to read right now.
6.) I love reading and seeing pictures of your family, it gives me a “face” behind your words. Plus it reminds me and I am sure a lot of others that you are a real person with a family, and real struggles.
7.)I love reading your posts, so I’m not really sure how to answer this question… more I guess πŸ™‚
8.)Yes! I love reading your posts on marriage and family. I am a young married mom that is struggling to manage my family and keep my life focused on the King. I love your posts about dressing modestly. and handling different situations with kids or family, or even strangers.

On a side note, I just started reading your blog in November, and I LOVE it. I was struggling with somethings in my life and I knew that I needed to turn back to God, so I googled “woman bible study” and your page came up. It is truly a blessing that God has put in my life. Thank you for this amazing ministry to Women and families everywhere.

  108. Hi Courtney –

Your blog is always so encouraging. And I just finished your book yesterday – SOOO good! I want more! πŸ˜‰

We all need different things in different seasons and I’ve been finding lately that my needs are changing. In general, many of the blogs I subscribe to are focusing on guest posts. Although that opens me up to many wonderful new voices, there are already too many voices in my head and it is getting crowded in there!

There has also been a big focus in recent months on book launches. (Or maybe that’s just on the blogs I follow.) I understand the need for that – and the collegiality that comes from supporting other Christian authors. And I do love being exposed to new books. But my inbox lately feels more like a giant infomercial than spiritual encouragement.

None of this is about your blog specifically, just where I am with blogs in general lately.

Finally getting to the point… I subscribed to WLW because I liked hearing your voice and wanted to invite YOU into my morning on the days that I have a spare moment. (The same with other blogs I subscribe to.) I would get stressed out if I invited you to my house for coffee and you consistently sent other people in your place (or worse, sales people!) The same happens to me with blog subscriptions. I have been unsubscribing to many blogs (and will likely do more of that for 2014) b/c it is stressing me out instead of encouraging me.

Everyone needs different things in different seasons. And I truly believe that God will use your blog for His good. So do what the LORD is directing you to do, and what pleases you and encourages you. Even if that means some folks may leave for a time. Our glorious Father will use your message to reach the right people at the right time.

    Thanks for all you do,

  109. Courtney

I appreciate your e-mails so much. I find your own personal ministry so inspiring. My faith has returned after many years away. Here in Ireland there have so many brutal stories about misery caused by the Irish Church that I thought I could manage without having faith. How wrong I was.
I feel I need to learn how to pray again. Sometimes I feel my prayers are more pleas to God than anything else. The other visitors to this website have been so helpful and comforting. I am learning a lot. So just continue to be yourself as we enter into a new year. Anything is possible. I opened my old school bible this year for the first time in many years. Who knows what lies ahead.
Thank you very much. Sincerely, Lisa in Ireland.

  110. Hey Courtney. I’m not sure if you will still see this, but I wanted to thank you for what you do. I am new to blogging, and yours is the the one and only blog I read before I started. You inspired me that I could make a difference from my kitchen table. And that’s what I am doing. I do a short daily devo, and I have found that although I always knew I liked teaching, I never knew how much I loved writing. And it’s all because of Him and you πŸ™‚

I just wanted to respond to the more or less question you asked (#7 I think)…..I know you want to get into a routine and give your followers what they want, but I say go with your heart. If you can write ahead and schedule a short daily post….go for it. If you want to do a quick thought every other day and a lengthier one every other day. Go for it. If you want to do 3 or 4 posts a week, go for it. The awesome thing is…..your readers are going to read what speaks to their heart no matter how often you post. Everyone may not read every day…but that’s okay too. Your job is to write what He puts in your heart when He puts it in your heart….pray over it….and He will make sure it gets to whoever it needs to get to. He is pretty cool like that.

So, that’s my two cents. πŸ™‚ thank you for writing and blogging and posting…..you are making a difference! You have made a huge difference in my life….and I am grateful!

  111. 1.) I could take or leave the book clubs. I would rather participate in a bible study!
2.) I really enjoy the vlogs! It feels like I’m chatting with you face to face over a big vanilla latte! I’m a mid-twenties single lady and I love reading your blog as I feel like I’m being mentored. I don’t have someone like that in my life right now and really appreciate your spiritual guidance. I would love to hear more about single topics, such as dating, preparing for marriage, to be a mom etc.
3.) I don’t mind guest posters occasionally but I come to the blog to hear from you. From other blogs I read, if there starts to be too many guest posts and giveaways I find myself not frequenting those sites as often.
4.) I never enter the giveaways, always wish they were blog posts instead! But I totally understand if you need breaks:)
5.) Although I probably wouldn’t participate in a book club, I really like book reviews. If I’m not familiar with the author I don’t know if its going to be truly biblical, sound advice etc. so I really trust your opinion!
6.) I love hearing about your family! It makes you more personable and I appreciate when you tie your teachings in with real life events, quirks, ups AND downs.
    7.) Maybe 2-3 blog posts a week?
8.) Love, love, love. It helps guide me on forming my own opinions through theologically sound teaching.
Thank you Courtney! I know I have been totally blessed by your blog and look forward to going into 2014 with you!

  112. Thanks for asking, Courtney! Your ministry has blessed me so much.
I have a “wild child” – 2 actually – and I would very much like to hear more of your thoughts on anger – how to deal with it in my kids, and in myself too.

Also, I have felt very convicted lately about my sharp tongue! Do you have any practical tips about how to curb harsh words and promote gracious speech?

    Thanks again!

  113. 1.) I like the book club idea. I own it but haven’t started it yet. Please no Facebook or twitter only related responding.

2.) Video series ideas: less on homeschooling. More on marriage and family and living biblically.

3.) Glad Janelle is staying. Definitely prefer your posts over guests. Less guest posting. When I read your blog I hope to read words from you.

4.) like giveaways, but only if there is a way I can enter other than Facebook or Twitter. I have set a boundary on social media and lately it seems those are the only ways to enter, so I’m left without a way to enter.

5.) Book reviews and book clubs – good,

6.) Family posts show who you really are. That build credibility for when you share tough

7.) one post each weekday is a good amount

8.) I would like to hear more about influencing others – the moms at the schools where I teach, my co-workers, my family. ( though these May not be your areas of expertise. If given the choice, I would still prefer your posts to a guest post.)

  114. I wish I had time to join in with a book club, I may do the one with your book though. I enjoy reading your writing, it seems like it speaks directly to me. Giveaways are fun but some bloggers use them to boost followers and forget about content, so as long as you maintain balance giveaways are good. I love your posts about marriage and serving others. Your blog is a great source of encouragement and wisdom. You have blessed so many and I’m looking forward to the new year with you!

  115. Here is my 2 cents πŸ™‚

    1) There is nothing missing from the book that I had wish I had seen. My favorite parts center around being a wife and mother
    2) topics for the video series -anything really, I love your insights on marriage, serving, parenting. But maybe a post or video for working wives and mothers and how we can prioritze our time to make enough time for our families and the Lord (it never feels like I give enough time to everyone and somethings gotta give and I don’t want to give on anything but I am stretched thin on time in a day)
    3) guest posters are great…the more the merrier as long as we still hear from you just as much as we do now πŸ™‚
    4) giveaways are always great
    5) A once a month book review would be tremendous. I love reading
    6) Please continue to post your family happenings, I particularly like to see these things!!!
    7) I think you need to do as many posts as you think you need to do and not a single one more than you feel like doing
    8) I find your blog very inspiring. I have learned a lot here and have taken so much to heart and practice in my own life, whatever you post about will be exactly what I need to hear. I will read it all no matter what! πŸ™‚

I love this blog and the guest posters, I check this and several other blogs that you have mentioned (Time-Warp Wife, Karen Ehman, GMG, Biblical Homemaking) everyday I spend my lunch hour at work in my office reading these each day and taking time with the Lord at that time (but only if it is quiet) I will take my time with the Lord at home if there are distractions. Thanks you for reaching out and getting opinions and ideas from your readers.

  116. I don’t really like guest posts or giveaways. I like personal posts if they have meaning to them (like reading about your grandma and her impact on your faith, or activities/recipes you do with your kids.

Your you tube video on intimacy in marriage changed my marriage. I would love to see more posts/videos on simply being a godly wife, mother, and woman with practical tips and advice…just keep you already do.

One thing I’d like to read more of your thoughts on is in ministry. When do we know we are called to do something, how do we know our spiritual gifts, when do we quit if fruit doesn’t seem to be bearing?.

  117. Courtney, thank you for your encouraging blog! I enjoy posts on how to apply biblical truths in everyday life, especially those on study, marriage and parenting. I wouldn’t care much for a book club but that is just because I already have so many books I want to read. I don’t homeschool so I don’t really need posts on that topic. I think giveaways are fine occasionally. Have a blessed Christmas

  118. I think it is through posting about yourself, your children, your family…..that is how you encourage us. You began this way and this is what I like best to read. I love seeing pictures of your family/life. You minister to us just through the way you live, what you do, your family, etc…… Keeping it simple and focusing on your family…sharing that with all of us a few times each week would be wonderful. I love Janelle’s recipes but as for other guest bloggers….I come here to read what YOU have to say. I like the “real life” things. Thank you for all you share. Merry Christmas!

  119. *I am excited about the WLW book. I have not read it yet so this would be perfect to go through it online with you.
*I love Janelle but would much rather hear from you than guests.
*Giveaways are fine but not why I read your blog everyday.
*Not crazy on the book reviews that much. I have such a long list that I need to read now ..lol
*I LOVE to see what is going on in your life and love the pics. It is so much easier to relate to your blog when we see how your days look so much like ours! πŸ™‚
*I think the mon wed fri works great not too much but still enough.(One of the reasons I subscribe so my inbox is not overloaded with posts everyday. Plus I follow you on FB and Instagram.)
*Lastly I love your posts on homemaking, marriage, motherhood and just being a God’s girl! The biggest reason I subscribed to your page! Love to be encouraged as a Homemaker and the support it brings in trying to build a God centered home.
THANKS for all you do and so excited about what you have coming up in 2014!

  120. Courtney, I have followed your blog for a few years now and just love all of your fresh, biblical insight into marriage and parenting. I loved your post about “Raising a Wild Child”. . . I cried because I have one! He is just four. . .reading about how your consistency has paid off gives me such hope. THANK YOU for your honesty and sharing genuinely. I also love seeing pics of your family, too! Merry Christmas to you! πŸ™‚

  121. I love the fun posts with pictures of your family, I love your posts about God, and I could do with less guest posts – yours are always more interesting to me. πŸ™‚ Thanks and have a Merry Christmas!

  122. I love reading your blogs. I get a little busy with life and loose touch with checking in on blogs but I’m glad I have the option to scroll through and catchup. I like your guest posts, it has lead me to other wonderful bloggers I would not have found otherwise but I think sometimes it gets a little to cluttered. I bought your book but am saving it to start on with the study guide right after the first of the year. I’d love to go through it with you online with a group. I think the book club is a great idea! I love books and reading. I am not surrounded by younger christian women who have the same interests and like reading/doing devotionals so I lean heavily on this blog and others like it for guidance on such things. I love seeing pictures of your family and posts about your life, its easier to relate when seeing how “normal” your ever day life is! Topics I’d LOVE to hear more about would be in being a proverbs 31 woman in today’s world, mothering, family life, things like that. πŸ™‚ Youre doing an awesome job! Love your blog!

  123. Dear Courtney,

Thank you so much for your blog. It has been a very real blessing to me in my life. I look forward to your posts and vlogs. I found your blog when I entered a search and have been following you ever since. I appreciate this opportunity to share my thoughts with you.

    1) I would like to learn more about your mother’s and grandmother’s influence in your upbringing.
    2) I am interested in reading a guest post from your mother and how she trained you up in the faith and how she was trained up in the faith. (I did not come from a Christian home or had parents who were Believers.) I found your blog years ago when I was searching to deepen my faith in Jesus. I have implemented some of the ideas I’ve gotten from your blog and find myself spiritually hungry for more. πŸ™‚
    3) Guest posters are “hit & miss” with me. It depends on their subject matter. However, with that said, I do love following Comfy in the Kitchen and Peak 313 as well!!
    4) Giveaways are fun, but they are not the reason I visit your blog.
    5) I LOVE the books and reviews you share with your readers. I have read books that I may not have otherwise tried as a result.
    6) That is up to you. I believe what you share with your readers is your decision. I do enjoy seeing these posts, however.
    7) I enjoy your posts very much and would love to see more from you; however, I would not want to have any part in overburdening you or stressing you out because you have to get “that blog post” up tonight.
    8) YES!!

God bless you and thank you for all you do!

  124. First, I am so thankful for all you do here at WLW and GMG! I don’t currently have a community or even one friend who I can bible/book study with (am praying on this). WLW and GMG fills this void. Your sites allow me to connect with women of faith and that is a blessing for me AND my family.

    So, my feedback:

1.) 8 week Book Club through the book Women Living Well – Great! I have to go buy the book as a belated Christmas gift to myself πŸ™‚

2.) Talk to Me Tuesday — Love this idea. For me, this relates to Question #8. Topics dealing with cultural issues or theological issues re: core topics of marriage and family.

3.) Guest Posts – Once a month? Sometimes I’m introduced to another great site but I try to keep these minimal so I’m not tempted to spend too much time online away from my family and service to God.

4.) Giveaways? Not important to me.

5.) Book reviews? Love book reviews – hard to know which ones to pick sometimes. 4 wk book club – May be hard to commit to. How about just one during the winter months when ppl are home more and kids are in school?

6.) Joseph Family Posts — Again, maybe a monthly update of highlights (good and bad so ppl can see that you are just like everyone else with ups and downs from one day to the next).

7.) Post Frequency: How ever often works for you. I appreciate all you do for your sites and can’t begin to imagine how you manage them AND your family life. It’s truly God ordained πŸ™‚

8.) YES – More posts dealing with cultural issues or theological issues regarding my core topics of marriage and family. Love these discussions and the ideas on keeping it fresh and relevant to our core focus as women for Christ as wives and mommas.

Other thoughts – I love your “theme” challenges. It’s fun and keeps me feeling connected to a great group of women living for Christ. God bless and Happy New Year!
