Why are we only studying chapters 101-150?

During the summer of 2018, we studied Psalms 1-50 together.  Then during the summer of 2019, we studied Psalms 51-100 together.  So during the summer of 2020, we’ll complete the book of Psalms and read one chapter a day, through Psalms 101-150!!!

Psalms is not a book of the Bible that you have to read in consecutive order, so if you missed the last two summers – NO worries! Just jump in with us this summer – you don’t want to miss this!  These 50 chapters are my favorite of the three studies.

If you are new, welcome to Good Morning Girls! We are so glad you are here!

We are Reading Through the Bible– one chapter a day – five days a week.

There are no sign-ups or enrollments.

We are reading through the Bible, switching back and forth between the New Testament and the Old Testament.

So far we have completed 27 books of the Bible:

Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy, Joshua, Judges, Ruth, 1 Samuel, 2 Samuel, 1 Kings, 2 Kings, Esther, Job, Psalms, Proverbs, Song of Solomon, Ecclesiastes, Hosea, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts, Romans, 1 Corinthians and James!  You can find ALL of the links to past studies on the GMG Resources Page.

To keep track of all of the books you have completed use this printable below.  Notice there are no dates on any of our reading plans so anyone can join us anytime.

What is Good Morning Girls?

“Good Morning Girls” is a title for a group of women who use email, Facebook, Twitter or text messaging to keep each other accountable for their quiet times.

Do I have to have a Good Morning Girls Group to join the Bible Study?

No.  You can do this study without a group on your own.

How Do I Start a Good Morning Girls accountability group?

Invite some of your friends to join you.  Pray about who from your church, Bible study group, family, neighborhood or workplace would be a good fit.  Groups that are smaller generally work better – 5-12 is a good number especially for email and text messaging groups. Facebook groups can go quite a bit larger and still work.

Once I have a group, what do I do?

Either create a Facebook Group where you can all discuss your daily reading and reflection questions or create an email group and email the group daily.  My group uses the Voxer App – a voice messaging app -to share about our quiet times.  You could also use text messaging or meet in person weekly in your home or at a coffee shop.

I want to be a leader of a group but I’m not sure how to lead?

To access the FREE Leader’s Training Video Series go —–> HERE.

The Good Morning Girls Leaders Manual is available as a digital download for free –> HERE.

Or you can find it out on Amazon in Paperback –> Here.

The manual includes: The leader’s responsibilities.  How to set up a Good Morning Girls Group. What to do once your group is set up. Tips to help your GMG Group thrive. How to Encourage Participation. How to fostering an atmosphere of community. The importance of prayer. A sample welcome letter. 9 ways to get more out of your Bible Study. Answers to frequently asked questions. Icebreaker Questions. And What to do if your GMG Group is struggling.

Can I Join a Group On-Line?

Yes, one week before we begin, I will invite women with open groups to leave links to their facebook groups or email groups, in the comment section here on the blog. So please stop back on that day to look for a group!

That’s all for now. If you have never seen the video that explains how the SOAK Method and Bible Coloring Chart work – I am posting it below. You do not have to use this method of Bible Study to join us.  All you really need is your Bible and an open heart.  But these tools will help you go deeper.

Here are the highlighters, pens and pencils I mentioned in the video:

Highlighters – Bible Hi-Gliders . Fine Line Non-bleeding Pens – Multi-Colored Gel Pens

Colored Pencils – Crayola Twistables and Crayola Colored Pencils

I use the ESV Inductive Study Bible and the ESV Journaling Bible as my personal study Bible.

  1. Just ordered the book for myself, my sister and my daughter. We can’t wait to begin the study!

      1. Hi Cathy,

Each summer we have a new journal for our reading – so this summer we are studying Psalms 101-150 (reading one chapter a day) and that journal is available here: We completed 1-100 the last two summers, reading 50 chapters at a time. So that is why it’s divided into three parts.

        Hope that helps,
        Courtney 🙂

  2. Just ordered my book and will be joining you for the 1st time! Soooo looking forward to this!
I also ordered the other two Psalm journal books and will do on my own time.
Thank you and have a great day!

  3. I’m gonna order my book today from Amazon. Can’t wait to start. I’m new and I’m excited. I have just finished the Proverbs 31 Bible Studies and I have a online Bible Studies here in California that we just finished.
I don’t do Facebook or Instagram. So blogging or other options will work for me. Thank you and have a great day!

    1. Welcome Diane,

I’m so glad you are joining us for the first time! That’s great! Everything you need will be here on the blog (I’ll be posting every Monday and Friday all summer long) so it’s okay if you do not have facebook or Instagram.

      Much Love,
      Courtney 🙂

  4. Ordered the digital copy and printed it!! Can’t wait to get started. Having just found your amazing site, I am wondering if there is a list of past studies I could get the digital copy of. I would love to go back and start from the beginning while working the current one.

    1. Hi Leah,

There are no sign ups for this study. Just come back here to the blog every Monday and Friday, all summer long. We begin on Monday, June 8th. If you want to get my blog posts in your email inbox, you can subscribe along my sidebar so you don’t miss a post.

So glad you are joining us! 🙂

  5. I am wanting to start a GMG group with my group of friends and my high school youth group. Not everyone is on social media, so I have created a blog for our virtual Bible Study. I have the journal, can I post the reflection question from the book on the private blog for our discussion? I do not want to infringe copyright!

  6. Am happy to find this group am following on Instagram and Twitter also invited my daughter looking forward to walk this journey with you.I just finished the book of 2Kings on my own from your past links and it was phenomenal.
