How to Live a Spirit Led Life

In Galatians Paul warns us that when we choose to live a Spirit filled life we will not gratify the flesh. In today's vlog, I share how we can live a life led by the Spirit. #Biblestudy #Galatians #WomensBibleStudy #GoodMorningGirls

Do you know how to live a Spirit led life?

If someone asked you how to do it – how would you answer them?

Sometimes the Christian life turns into a list of rules to follow and formulas and outward behaviors. But over and over the Bible tells us to be still and wait on the Lord. We need to be Spirit led.

The Christian life is NOT a list of rules and formulas. It is a personal walk with the living God.

A lot of decisions we make in life are not specifically addressed in scriptures – for example, deciding if you should take a new job, buy a new house, or if you should allow your child to go to a friend’s house to spend the night. Those kinds of issues are not addressed in the Bible but we need the Lord’s direction and guidance.

Join me on this week’s video, as we discuss our reading in Galatians 5 and How to Live a Spirit Led Life.

Galatians 5:16 & 17 says:

16 But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. 17 For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the things you want to do.

As I said in the video, the reality is, our flesh does not want to be still and wait on God.

We were born with a sin nature, but when we were born again we were given the Holy Spirit and now we have these two opposed natures inside of us…and friends the struggle is REAL! There is an inner war inside of us between the flesh and the Spirit.

Paul does not say – you will not have the fleshly desires. He says, when you walk in the Spirit – you will not GRATIFY them.

God sent his son to die for you and you have been set free. Yield to the Holy Spirit and be still, wait on the Lord and listen to him.

Live a Spirit led life. He loves you so.

Walk with the King,

Courtney

  1. This video is so good! I truly enjoy your Bible studies, Courtney! I have watched that seminar you did at your Church with Karen, Claire, etc. many times! Any plans of another one? Keep walking with the King.

  2. Very well said. You did a great job on that. It’s one fruit (many call it fruits of the Spirit like you get each gift one at a time). We have this gift given to us by the Holy Spirit. And like all good gifts, such as faith, we can’t boast about it because its not from us. That is how we remember not to be conceded. ??
