Week 2 – When You Feel Like Giving Up

Let us not grow weary of doing good,
for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.
Galatians 6:9

The Bible says in Galatians 6:9, to not grow weary and to not give up. But so many days I am so very weary.

The principle of reaping and sowing requires patience. A little acorn does not become a huge oak tree in a day. It takes a LONG time for that acorn to stand tall.

Our thoughts, actions, words, hobbies and habits are all seeds.

Pause and consider — what are you sowing right now?

And what are you reaping right now?

Let’s sow seeds of mediation and prayer and giving thanks into our lives. It is through these spiritual disciplines that God strengthens us on weary days and helps us to not give up. He is our strength!

Week 2 Challenge

Keep your candle going and add to it – soft music every day in your home. Choose worship, classical or another form of peaceful music that helps you focus on the Lord.

My candle and soft music literally change the atmosphere of my home.  While the rest of my home may be messy, my candle keeps on burning and my soft music keeps on playing.  Morning, noon and night they serve me. My candle serves me with a flickering warm light, a pleasant scent, and a reminder to turn to God as my source of strength and help.  My music serves me with a soothing sound.  They don’t make messes, they don’t need managed, they just simply bless me and my family.  I hope it blesses you too.

  1. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful testimony. It can be so hard to be grateful and hang on to God’s faithfulness in the midst of betrayal. You have reminded me to be thankful for reconciliation this morning and that God has called us to more than selfish conceit. You exude joy in your journey with the King and I’m praying that would be true of me as well. Thank you for what you are doing. May God bless your coming marriage.

  2. God is so good! Thank you so much for sharing your testimony. I am behind due to a cold but I look forward to this study each year. My Bible group will also be doing together again which is so exciting to me. God bless you your fiancé and both of your families, I pray everything falls into place. ❤️

  3. Thank you, Courtney for your wonderful words of encouragement and biblical wisdom. I have been going through so much discouragement lately about how my life has become. I often feel like God has abandon me, but now I see that God is so good and faithful. I see that life will not always be the way we dreamed or hoped, but that God promises to never leave or forsake us even in our struggles, trials, and tribulations this life can bring. I truly need to hear your words as you have demonstrated great faith. I desire faith like you. I am so happy too for you and your new life that awaits. God’s word never turns void, “Seek First the Kingdom of God and His Righteousness all these things will be added to you” Matt.6:33
I just ordered the journal to go along with this study and will be catching up with the readings and journal writings this weekend. God Bless you, your family, and your new fiancé.
