  1. You did great!
Looks like it was a lot of fun!

So glad to see they didn't edit it like crazy and make you look like a crazy women!!

God bless you and your desire to be a wife and mom to your family!!

  2. It sounded like you started to say that you have a quiet time every morning when they were asking you about taking care of yourself – did they cut you off/edit it out?

  3. I followed your blog and Rachel Ray on facebook to see the comments. I notice that without Christ, this doesn't make sense. The world tells us that we are to be out there earning the bacon because we cannot trust a man. (Thank you womens libbers!) And that view was parroted on the comments of the RR facebook page. Thank you Courtney for your testimony and your courage. I only wish you were allowed to say the reason that you are who you are! Keep on walking with the King. Karyn

  4. Dessa – you got it – I explained my quiet time and how I get up before my husband and children every morning to have my quiet time – and yes, it was completely edited out! I also said we need to take care of ourselves "physically, emotionally and spiritually" and out came the spiritually word.

But I'm okay with it – people are finding their way over to my blog as a result of the show…and here – they are going to hear all about my sweet Jesus!!!
    Courtney

  5. What fun to watch! I'm glad they weren't biased in trying to depict you in a negative light. You and your husband seem so happy and stable and loving, and I hope viewers recognized that instead of instantly condemning your lifestyle as "old-fashioned" or "wrong."

  6. You could not have don any better. It felt like everything you said was true. I feel like you represented me and all those like me as well. Thank You!

  7. Courtney,
I truly appreciated you and your husbands appearance on the RR show! I hate that they edited out the most important aspect of Christ, but the radiance that you and your husband have did shine of Our Lords blessings!
The way that you serve your home is to be commended, personally, I believe that if more wives were open to this that it would provide a revival in our country!

  8. I'm surprised, but also not surprised, that this is such a touchy subject these days. With all the blogs that I follow and the way I live my life, you're way of life sounds like the "normal" thing. I'm amazed, but also glad, that a talk show decided to highlight our normal way of life!

  9. This was so great – thanks for sharing it! It's good to see others in a positive light living the traditional roles of marriage. God is good!

  10. I just found your blog today off of women at the well and I saw your picture and thought, I recognize her. Then I saw your family Christmas picture and recognized your from Rachael Ray! I loved your segment and am so glad to be able to follow your blog now!

  11. Great job! Very impressive! I find it interesting that three of the "favorites" that were posted today were about marriage!

You are a great role model and I'm going to check out your blog more often.

  12. Just saw this for the first time because you linked to it in your 1950’s wife vs P31 wife post today. You did an AMAZING job on the show! You are a light and example to all of us younger wives and mama’s striving to run our homes biblically. I’ll be the first to admit that I fail A LOT but I am so thankful for grace and an understanding husband. So many great points were made by you and the doctor/author in this show. Thank you for shining Jesus on national television!!

Oh – one more thing. I was surprised that a few people raised their hands when RR asked if it was offensive to anyone. Why should your choices offend anyone? Unless they edited it out, I don’t recall you ever saying that this is how everyone should do things. You were simply sharing how your marriage/home works and why it’s wonderful for you and your family. Why would that offend anyone? Odd. Of course the reason you do what you do is the gospel and we know that the gospel is an offense to many… so I guess it makes sense after all.

  13. I totally remember seeing this episode years ago. At the time, I had 1, 2, and 6 year old children. Two boys and my baby girl. I was a crew member at Burger King and a student with Virginia College for Administrative Office management. I remember seeing your clip and thinking how much I’d like to do that. I was a stay at home mom when my oldest was a baby and continued like that till he was 2. Once I went back to work, we began to spend more money and get more things that maybe we did not need. Now I am a General Manager with Sonic Drive-In, running a successful restuarant. However, I am once again wanting to be a stay at home mom and wife. I desperately want to take care of my husband, children, and home. However, after working 10 hour days, I’m not up for any house work after all that. If I left my job though that would cut our household income down by about 2/3s net. 🙁 my husband is not happy at his job and he knows that for me to do what I want, he needs to get another job with hopefully better pay. What kind of things can I do to encourage him to find what really makes him happy and to fill fulfilled by becoming a stay at home wife and mom again.

    Thanks
    Beth Moore

Ps : I also want another baby. 🙂

  14. What a blessing you are! Thank you for being an inspiration and encouragement to so many! I think for those of us who know your heart’s desire to serve the Lord, we understand your disappointment in not being able to share about your ministry and your God. The segment was still a blessing to watch to see inside your home and to watch you serve your family with love. May the Lord continue to bless and use you greatly!

  15. Awww, I can’t believe they completely edited that part out that you said! How rude of them, they did it in such a way you couldn’t even really tell! The biblical part is so REAL in it though and the reason you chose to do it. Did they talk to you before the show and tell you they weren’t going to be asking you about that or talking about it at all? Or did you think you would be able to? Did Rachel Ray KNOW you did this for biblical reasons? 🙁
