Welcome To My New Home Page!

I’m super excited to be “All Grown Up” now!!!  I have been blogging at a “Blogspot” for nearly 3 years.  This has meant that the address to my blog has been very long and at times hard for people to find.  My old address was womenlivingwell-courtney.blogspot.com…long!

My new blog address is WomenLivingWell.Org!

I moved from an editor named “Blogger” to “WordPress”.  The lovely lady who did the delicate move of migrating ALLLLLLL my old blog posts is Erin from Design By Insight.  Isn’t she amazing?!!!  I was a bit nervous that all my content could be lost but it was a seamless move – this girl is GOOD!!!

I hope you can find everything you need here.  The homepage is a bit cleaned up.   Please let me know if you find any kinks.

You might notice that I have added a tiny word into the title…the word “Ministry”. In the Greek, the word ministry is “diakonea” meaning “to serve.” This Greek word is used twice in Matthew 20:26-28.

26 It shall not be so among you. But whoever would be great among you must be your servant,  27 and whoever would be first among you must be your slave, 28 even as the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

This is my heart for Women Living Well.  John McArthur writes: “So, if we pursue greatness, we pursue it on the path of humility. If we pursue greatness, we pursue it on the path of service, we pursue it on the path of slavery.”

Ann Voskamp has put my heart into a prayer and it starts like this:

Every great victory begins on the knees.

Upside Down blogging, with Jesus increasing and us decreasing,

begins with us bowed in prayer over a keyboard… so we begin in prayer…

The prayer is seen here.  And then it ends:

Yahweh, You alone are my God, not Google

Jesus, You alone are my Savior, not site meters

Holy Spirit, You alone are my Comforter, not comments….

So be it, today, yesterday, and every post to come.

This is my prayer I have made on earth and over this keyboard…

Let it be ratified in heaven.

Amen.

I am your servant and I love being here every week with you as we wrestle out living our lives as wives and moms to the glory of God.  The word ministry just felt fitting!!!

You all do ministry too – you minister to your husbands, children, extended family, neighbors, and church friends!  Many of you host in home  Bible studies, take meals to sick moms, coordinate summer Vacation Bible Schools, take teens on Missions Trips, head up Good Morning Girls groups, hold babies in the nursery and teach Children’s Sunday School classes.  You spend hours laboring for no financial gain – but simply out of an overflow of your love for Jesus!  I want to be like you!

Ministry is a lifestyle not a vocation.

I love you, my reader, deeply.  I am praying for you all.

Walk with the King!

    1. Hmmm…Erin told me that the way I set up the feed on the last blog there were two options so there are more subscribers than what are listed…those who didn’t subscribe through feedburner would need to re-subscribe…so I’m not sure if you are in that boat or not. Thanks Alyssa for following me – you’ve been an encourager to me for a long time. It means a lot to me – thanks! 🙂

  1. oh awesome! i tried using wordpress but i felt like i couldnt really get everything to look the way i wanted it to look. but your page is fabulous!

  2. Love your new website. I am new to the blogging world, but you are the first site I found that focused on building up Christian women….stumbled upon your site at I time when I needed that kind of connection. Your ministry is invaluable.

  3. I like the new page! I’m still a new baby blogger figuring out blogspot, but one of these days I might get brave enough to try WordPress…

    1. You can! I am new too and thought I was tech-savvy, but realized I don’t know a thing about building a blog away from blogger, but I am doing it! There are some easy templates to get you started!;)

  4. I love the new look! You have been such an encouragement as I struggle to wrap my whole life around God and be the wife, mom, and servant that He wants me to be! Thank you so much!

  5. Courtney,
I love the new home page. Congratulations and thank you for sharing a little of your life as a beautiful example of a godly woman for us to learn from. I read your post frequently and one of my favorite things about them is the positive influence your posts have had on my daily walk with Christ as a wife and mother. I want you to know that even though we don’t know eachother personally I read and reflect on your written thoughts and views (which often are similar to mine) and I find beautiful encouragement to live boldly for Christ. God bless your ministry and your efforts to continue to spread His message deep and wide!

  6. Courtney, what a wonderful & fresh home!
I admire your godly wisdom and balance. It has been so neat to watch how you are honoring the Lord by delegating out the branches of your site that have grown, like GMG.
Thank you for being a consistent witness for Christ and leading an online community with such humility!

  7. WOW! Love the new website. How exciting! It has been so neat to watch this grow over the past few years. Thanks for your time and energy! God has used you in my life and the lives of many!

    1. Miranda,

If you subscribed through feedburner you should still receive my posts…if you used the other button I had for subscribing (I had two and didn’t realize it) then you will not receive them. I apologize that I am not sure. If you don’t get the posts this week then I hope you will resubscribe. Thanks for the follow!

  8. Hi Courtney!!
I am so excited for you! Your new website looks WONDERFUL!!

And I so appreciate your ministry to women online. I have been so blessed by your blog over the past year and a half since I first discovered you and now as a Good Morning Girl (although, I’m closer to a Good AFTERNOON Girl these days…. nap time… aaahhhh!!!).

    I DO pray for you!!!

    His,
    Shari

  9. “Ministry is a lifestyle”… I love it! It encourages me to keep on doing what I’m doing every day, seeking to know Him and serve Him. Congrats on the new website.

  10. I love the line “ministry is a lifestyle not a vocation”!! We should all live according to this statement. Living for Christ is not about doing a job; it’s about how you live the daily life that matters to the lost world.

Great job on the new website!

    Debbie

  11. Really love the new look and website~ its fresh and clean!!

I have been very blessed and encouraged by your thoughts..so excited for you!!

  12. LOVE it!!!! and I love this post. that prayer is great… I have found myself focused too much on comments and followers lately… which was never my purpose to start a blog anyway. Just when I needed it most someone wrote me and told me how much some of my devotions encouraged her heart as a christian lady and military wife. If my blog can be an encouragement to ONE person than it is worth it to me. Thanks for your blog Courtney and for keeping things in perspective. It’s all about HIM!!

  13. Hi Courtney
I LOVE your new site! It looks so cool. Great! So I am looking forward to many more inspiring posts and will have fun translating much more in the future (or reading them in German as lovely Stephanie is translating some at the moment :-).
I wish you lot’s of inspiring moments with blogging.
    God bless you!
    Greetings from Germany
    Katja

  14. Hi Courtney,

I really like the simplified look of your space and adding the word ministries only identifies what your blog has been doing for years! Thank you for your Godly example for women!

  15. LOVE your new look….it is truly beautiful and peaceful! This post is just as gorgeous!!! Enjoy WP….it is diff from Blogger, but…..yes, worth it! Many Blessings!

  16. Hi Courtney.. congrats on your new look! Thank you for the blessing that your ministry has been to me. I found your blog at a time when I needed so much of the encouragement that I was searching for in my quest for healing and figuring out where my life should go. You have helped me to grow and learn so much and it was through you that I started blogging and this whole new world opened up to me.

May God continue to bless and guide you as you continue to be a source of inspiration and wisdom to others.

    Love & Blessings!

  17. I just switched over to self-hosting as well and while there is a big learning curve, it is such a blessing! Your blog is an inspiration to me, Courtney!

  18. The new page is just gorgeous! I love it! Happily re-subscribed! I have been a follower for over a year now and although I am a dfferent religion I have found that your advice has greatly help me in my religion, as well as my family and marital life! Thank you for sharing your knowledge, your love, your support and best of all your spirit with us! You are a true inspiration & I believe HE made you that way for a reason! Thank you for all you do! Also thank you for “growing up” your blog! So much easier to follow on my phone when its not as much to type in 🙂 God bless you and yours & I hope you have a GREAT day!

  19. Erin sent me over to see your remodeling job. I agree with you that she is the loveliest lady and so amazingly creative! She is working on mine and plans to have it working by Friday. I can hardly wait:)

I like what she has done for you and I love your mission. I was intrigued with your Good Morning Girls site so I hopped over for a visit. If you visit my site you’ll see I have a book club too. While we are home school families with children 7-17 who read the classics, our purpose is similar to yours, “To build the Body of Christ for His glory. I love the way you have organized this site and the book club one. You’re awesome!

  20. Love the new look and love that picture!
Just heard an AMAZING sermon at church on Sunday that is similar to your post.
    Thanks for sharing with us!

  21. Wow, fabulicious!!! The new home looks great, Courtney. Thank you so much for your continued service to the glory of our God and Father, and to the benefit and blessing of us ALL.
    ~Toni~

  22. Your site is lovely, and you do seem to be a lovely person as well. I’ve visited I think three times now, and I think I’m a stayer. I love your blog and its message. I love that you added the word “ministry” as this is surely what you {and the rest of us do}.

It’s so nice to have a place to go to talk to like mind women. Sometimes we may get down, complain too much and even reveal what’s really on our hearts—regardless I believe, at this place, we will be aceepted and loved. Even lovingly encouraged.

    Thank you

  23. I love your new layout! I love that the subjects are now listed for easy reference. I use a lot of your recipes, and I love to go back and revisit old posts. Blessings!

  24. LOVE the new look!!! It also loads much faster for me than the old one…of course, that could be my computer!

  25. This looks fabulous!! It loaded much faster for me too!!
I have only been blogging for about 6 months, but want to move to WP now, so I don’t have to do it later.
I will definitely check back more often now that your new site loads so quickly!!

  26. The new site is great and VERY “grown up”. 🙂 I couldn’t afford to have someone move my blogger blog, so I just “hand-carried” it over to WordPress as well – though it is not as extensive as yours! I am enjoying my subscription to your site. I found it through that contest last month! I was going over to vote for Sally C. and then I noticed some of the other Christian sites and started to vote for them as well, but I clicked on yours. I love it! Blessings!

  27. Hi Courtney,
I am so happy to have found you. I have not found many women’s ministry blogs. I started writing almost a year ago and started blogging 2 months ago. I always hated writing but being a stay at home mom, the Lord has been teaching me so much and I needed an outlet. I look forward to hearing all the Lord is teaching you! 🙂

“Ministry is a lifestyle not a vocation.” Exactly! Well said.

    His Clay,
    Melissa Bradley

  28. Hi Courtney, I really like the new site it looks great. I was looking in your archives for a post you did last year in Sept. I believe, about being frugal in your holiday decor (it was fall decor) and you showed some pics of a friends porch and tips on where you got the decorations. I can’t seem to find it, do you know where it might be?
    Thanks!

  29. Wow, I keep finding more of your posts from Kelly’s Korner link up today. It’s funny how the titles that draw me in are all yours! I am supposed to hear something for you today, that’s for sure because everywhere I turn your blog post pops up. You link a lot with other bloggers and I’m just happening to find you there. Really wild. You do a great job at exposure, that’s for sure.

  30. The new look is so fresh and clean looking. The prayer resonated with me. As a fellow blogger wanting to glory God I need to be reminded of why I am doing this – not for numbers for if I only reach one and it is the one He intended to reach through me then that will be enough. Thank you for all you do.
