Happy 4th of July Pics!

Happy 4th of July! Here’s some pictures from our home to yours!

Our All-American Cutie Pie!

Finally a chance to sit down lol!

My oldest sister Kristen.  She homeschooled her 3 boys for 7 years – now they attend public schools.  She is a virtual  high-school math teacher – she teaches full-time on-line from her home to homeschool students!  Her husband is a pastor at our church.

My middle sister (I’m the baby) Jennifer.  She is a part-time teacher at her children’s Christian school and her husband designs custom homes.  He comes in handy for all sorts of home interior design advice!

Some of the cousins eating together!

The grandparents and great grandparents.  This is the foundation and wisdom of our family.

The yearly dirt cake!

Fireworks in our backyard!   Last year when we spent our first summer in our new home, we discovered that they do fireworks over a lake that is 2 minutes from our home!  So we have our own backyard fireworks display!!!   This was the perfect ending to our July 4th celebration!

And I’m reminded of our founding fathers on this precious day:
“Resistance to tyranny becomes the Christian and social duty of each individual. … Continue steadfast and, with a proper sense of your dependence on God, nobly defend those rights which heaven gave, and no man ought to take from us.”  ~John Hancock -1st Signer of the Declaration of Independence

  1. Lovely Pics. Your picture of all the grandparents reminded me of a statement our Pastor has said many times….”When in the presence of grey haired people, keep your mouth shut and your ears open.”

  2. Sounds like you had a terrific holiday, Courtney. We did as well. I miss my country home back in Ohio (Wellington). We lived on 3½ acres and had the most amazing views of fireworks there. Took the kids to a local park to view them last night, then watched them over our pond from the back porch tonight (informal fireworks; sheesh, there are some wild and crazy neighbors out there, lol.)

Sure wish your sis was teaching math in my state. We’re finishing up our enrollment with K-12 right now. I’ve homeschooled for 7 years now and we’re going for a change this year. I’m both excited and nervous about the kids being “in” public school now. We’ll see how it goes. Have a great week!
    Blessings,
    Toni

  4. Great quote from John Hancock. Thank you for sharing your beautiful 4th of July pictures. I love how you call the grandparents and great-grandparents the foundation and wisdom of your family. Blessings!
