This Week’s Bible Reading Plan & An Update on Alex

Alex's surgery collage

Alexander’s surgery is over and so far so good!

Thank you for all of your comments, many prayers, encouraging words and stories – they are SO appreciated!

Alex specifically wanted me to say a thank you from him.  He said it made him feel really good to know you were praying. So thank you for blessing my boy!

He is home resting, with his foot elevated, iced and on the road to recovery.  He will get his cast on Wednesday.  We stocked up on books and movies, so that’s what we’ll be doing for the next week here in this home.

AND we’ll be reading God’s word!

So, here is this week’s GMG Bible Reading Plan in Psalms:

December week 2

Have a great new week!

Walk with the King,

Courtney

  1. So glad Alex is on the road to recovery and his surgery went well. I was praying for y’all on Friday! Hope this is a relaxing, restful week!!

  2. Thankful all went well, praising God. I will keep praying for him for a good recovery. My little one just had a fever and cold now, and there’s not much more that makes a mama feel helpless than when her children are not well. Hope he is able to rest well and that his pain is minimized.

  3. What a brave boy! Sometimes we have to take time out just to be with each other and enjoy savouring God’s comforting presence and resting in Him so now is a perfect time. Praying that Alex continues to make a full recovery xx

  4. Sooooo happy for,y’all to have that part over!!!! Now the hard part begins- keeping that boy still and making him rest and follow dr orders!!! Haha!!!

Thank you for updating and for allowing us to pray! We soooo appreciate all you do to serve the Lord and us and this allows US to serve you and your family!!!

  5. Courtney — I am very happy the surgery went well. Rest assured, we are all praying for all of you. I’ve had several foot surgeries — my words of wisdom are do EXACTLY what the doctor says. If it’s no weight on it, don’t. I have friends who didn’t follow their instructions and healing was compromised. Those knee walkers are a gift from God as well, if you can borrow or rent one. Also, when it gets itchy inside the cast, a long rubber spatula works well. You want something that won’t make scratches inside there. Lots of distractions this time of year which should help.

  6. So happy to hear that Alex’s surgery went well. I’ll keep praying for a wonderful, total recovery! The photos are adorable.

  7. Thank you for the update, glad to hear good news. Prayers continue for complete recovery. ENJOY these days of convelesing with your son!

  8. Courtney,
We all know that God is truthful to His word. I am praising God with you all.
One thing I have to say is WON’T HE DO IT!
    Have a great recovery

  9. So happy to see he’s doing well! I understand the fear of having your baby go under the knife… one of my twins had to have reconstructive surgery on ureter (connects the kidney to the bladder) a month before he turned three… such a horrific thing for me watching them wheel him to the OR while he was sedated and then the surgery taking longer then expected.. I was so scared but had God and my husband with me. Now he’s almost 6 and healthy as can be! The choice was the best decision we made for him, just as I’m sure this was for your baby.

  10. Good to read the surgery went well. I wish Alex a good recovery, but with a mommy like you , I guess this will be no problem ;);)

    God bless you all,

    Yvonne

    1. Hi Karen – thank you for asking. He is doing REALLY well!! He got his cast off on Monday and now is in a walking boot. In about 3 weeks he’ll be done with the boot and we will see how he walks.

Thank you so much for your prayers and concern.

      Lots of Love,
      Courtney
