Happy New Year! I’m so glad you are here!  We are about to begin our study through the book of 2 Kings on Monday, January 13th and EVERYTHING you need to get started is below – so keep on scrolling down.  There is a lot of information below but the most important part is where you leave a comment and let us know where you are joining us from.  If you have an open GMG group – please leave your link in the comments so women looking for an open group – can find you.

Here at Good Morning Girls all the resources are free
but there is an optional 2 Kings Journal for purchase
on Amazon!

This journal includes:

*  An introduction and background to the Book of 2 Kings
*  The Daily Reflection Question
*  The Verse of the Day
*  The GMG Coloring Chart
*  An explanation of the SOAK Method
*  Blank pages for SOAKing each chapter of 2 Kings

Here’s the Printable Bible Bookmark for 2 Kings.

Here is the free printable short SOAK version of the 2 Kings Journal for logging your SOAK study.   This is for those who are not purchasing the Paperback Journal.

This is not the same as the Paperback Journal – this eJournal has been created for low-cost printing on a home printer and does not include the Introduction to 2 Kings, Verses of the Day or Reflection questions.

Invite your sons and daughters!

Just like us – our children NEED to be in God’s Word daily.  Children over the age of ten are capable of reading a chapter a day and SOAKing what they have read. I encourage you to introduce this method of study to your children.  Teach them how to drink from the living well of God’s word and soak in all the spiritual nourishment they can!

If you have a son joining you – there is a journal available for them!  The interior is identical to the girls journal.

What is 2 Kings all about?

In 2 Kings, we will see the spiritual decline of Israel and Judah, as they refuse to turn from their idols and follow God wholeheartedly.  As a result, they will be taken into captivity.  But before they are taken into captivity, God continually raises up prophets to warn the nation of Israel, to turn from their wicked ways.  One of those prophets is Elisha and he performs 14 amazing miracles in 2 Kings!  You don’t want to miss this!  We are going to learn so much about the God we serve.

If you are new, welcome to Good Morning Girls! We are so glad you are here!

We are Reading Through the Bible– one chapter a day – five days a week.

There are no sign-ups or enrollments.

We are reading through the Bible, switching back and forth between the New Testament and the Old Testament.

Still not sure how this all works? Here is a video explaining it further.

Here are the highlighters, pens and pencils I mentioned in the video:

    1. Hi! Its been at least 6 years since my last GMG study. I am excited to jump back in to a daily bible study.

I joined your group! I am in South East Michigan! I have visited San Diego many years ago ! Looking forward to this digital Christian Fellowship!

        1. Just outside of the Detroit Metro Area; by Metro Airport kinda!

Is this starting Monday the 6th or 13th. I got my supplies ready and excited to start this new Chapter in MY LIFE 😀

          1. Hi. 11 people from 2-24 call me gramma Janet. I live in the Willamette valley of Oregon. Never did a study in Kings. Looking forward to 2 Kingss study.

        2. Welcome to the group, Linda! I hope you enjoy your time with us. If you want to, you may want to look at some of the other posts I have put into the GMG/WLW website to get resources for this study. Some are paid, some are free, so…take your choice! Jan

      1. Welcome, Jennifer! It looks like we might have several group buddies from MI! I am originally from MI as well, (I was born there) but have lived 99% of my life in CA. I’m looking forward to studying with you! Jan

    2. Hi Jan! I just requested to join your group. I live in Overland Park, Kansas, just outside of Kansas City. We’ve been here for 11 years. I’m looking forward to this study and to meeting you and this group!

      1. Hi, Susan! Welcome to the II Kings Bible Study. I am looking forward to studying with you as well. I actually have relatives in Kansas City, MO! It is indeed a small world. J

    3. I’d love to join your group. I recently moved to Tampa FL (originally from mid-michigan and spent a few years in Louisville KY). I’ve been looking for something to help me get back in the Bible regularly and am missing being part of a community of women.

      1. Sounds like you came to the right place! It is a little bit “strange” doing a Bible study online, and it took me a while to get used to it. It is also really neat being able to connect with ladies from all over, and having the Bible study come to your house means you never have the excuse that you “just can’t make it” tonight! Welcome! J

      1. Welcome to the group, Karen! I am looking forward to working and studying with you. Check out the other posts on the GMG/WLW website to locate resources and guidelines (I actually put the guidelines in the welcome note in my website). J

    4. Hi there!
From Lansing, MI area. Haven’t done a study since 2016 and this will be the first group I’ve joined 🙂 excited to dig in!!

    5. Hi, I am in southwestern Pennsylvania. This is my first time joining an online bible study and I’m excited for the opportunity to grow in my faith. Thank you for the invite!

    1. Hi Robyn and welcome the our Bible study of II Kings! I didn’t order the book with my last study, and I found that I wished I had, so I think you will enjoy having it to work with. I love Chicago, although it has been many years since I was last there. Looking forward to studying with you! J

  1. Hi
I’m Darlene from Idaho. This is my fourth study with GMG. I have always learned so much. I absolutely love this community of women who love studying God’s word together.
    Looking forward to studying 2Kings!
    Happy New Year

    1. Welcome Darlene, I am glad you are going to join us! Please check out some of the more recent posts on the GMG/WLW website for group guidelines and a resources website. I’m looking forward to studying with you! J

  2. I’m joining this group for the first time 🙂 feel very blessed to have the desire, which we know is from the grace of God, to spend time in his word with his daughters.

    1. Welcome, Chris! If you haven’t done an online Bible study before, it is a little weird at first, and it takes some time to get used to. What I have found though, is that we are working as a group with women from all over the U.S., who have different perspectives, and you can learn more, (I think) than if you are in a group of people from the same neighborhood. I’m looking forward to studying with you! J

      1. Serina,
Hopefully, IF you haven’t gotten a response yet (telling you HOW to join a group, and which one(s) might still be open), you will soon. All of these ladies seem extremely friendly and helpful! 8 ) *I’m sure you will be blessed by following along, and maybe you have friends/neighbors in the UK who might also be interested. 8 )

  3. Hi Everyone! I’m from Barbourville, KY. This is my first Bible Study with GMG! I’m excited to dive into II Kings with you!

    1. Hi Brittany! Welcome to the group! I hope you will check out my more recent posts on my GMG/WLW website for group guidelines and links to resources. I’m looking forward to studying with you! J

  4. I will be joining for this Bible study of 2 Kings. A little nervous but looking forward to it. I’m in Ontario, Canada. 🙂

  5. I’m not sure how I got here (Pinterest, then follow link, then follow link…), but I am excited to start. I am in the Portland, Oregon area, and I am Catholic, so I’d like to use the New American Bible. Have to buy it. Any suggestions for a good one for marking up?

  6. Hi, I’m Linda Komondy, joining from Sterling Heights, MI. This it’s my first OMG study; I’m truly looking forward to it!

  7. Hello, My name is Karen M. Roth. I was in this group years ago ( 2010) before my health took a serious downturn and I ended up in the hospital twice. I have since then retriggered my Closed Head TBI and now I am going totally blind and deaf. I just had a lung CAT Scan and they found a Blood Clot on my lungs and I may also be in Stage 3 of Peripheral Arterial Disease.
I just found out that I am losing four members of my family, my mother, father and brother, and my mother-in-law. I come from a long line of Generational Curses and I chose to be the one to break it all, Abuse, neglect, and tragically murder and alcoholism and illegal street drug addictions. I quit drinking in 1998 and I quit smoking on October 10, 2007. Like the song says, “I have Branches of my own, just when I thought it would break, it only would bend but I would not break.” Paraphrasing it here:)

I am a crafting fool I love most outlets of crafting but I am finding I love quilting by hand and Crocheting, Beading, Embroidery, and Mixed Media Art, with my 3D Computer Generated artwork the most. I have set my heart to create as much beauty as I can before I am no longer able to out of the ashes of this life given to me with the Lord’s help.

I plan to go back to school and earn my B.A. in Graphics Arts before I go totally blind and Lord willing I have a very special Charity project to also start this year named after my precious Angel baby, ‘Tobias Wings’. I lost him back in 1998 when I fell on the ice and was not allowed to name him until I finally got free and I determined this past month to name him- Tobias Nathaniel Jones.

    I am in Ellensburg, Washington and would love to find a Group that is for the Chronically Ill. I am on most social media platforms as ffpaws or Masquerading Crafter. Looking forward to starting this Study {{{hugz}}}

    1. Just keep believing in Jesus’s powerful words of healing and grace! You are a daughter of the Most High God and all things are possible to those who love Him!

    2. Hi I am Jerryann Church and I live in Clarkston, Washington. I recognize the name of your town so we must be close by. I too have some similar issues and can relate to several things you mentioned. This will be my first go-around with GMG, my journal should be delivered on Mon. the 6th, can’t wait. 2019 wasn’t exactly my best year but I’m still alive through God’s love and grace, thank heaven! I’m looking forward to joining a group of Christian women with similar goals in mind. It would be nice to talk to someone I didn’t have to spend 30 minutes explaining myself to before getting into the meat of the conversation. I simply don’t have that kind of stamina any more. I to am a creative woman. I’ve discovered it doesn’t really matter to me what the articles are it’s the creation part that interests me. For a while it was quilting, machine embroidery, sewing clothing,. I know all the needle arts. I enjoy cooking and baking and recently have gotten into homemade sourdough, fermenting, canning etc. See, it doesn’t really matter to me what products you set before me, I can’t resist the temptation to create something pretty out of it!! (smile) Anyway hoping to meet other Christian women with similar feelings and ideas. You sounded like a good victum hmmmm I mean friend I think would a better choice of words here – I also have an odd sense of humor too apparently!

  8. Hi all,
I missed the study for 1 Kings–should I read/study that first before I were to attempt 2 Kings?

    1. Hi Karen,
When Courtney announced this study she said it’s ok if you missed 1 Kings. She also said she would catch us up so we aren’t lost when we start. I missed it too, but I’m looking forward to this one. Making your home a Haven was my first study with her and I loved it!
