What’s Hosea all about?

The Book of Hosea has two parts.  The first three chapters use Hosea’s life to illustrate his prophetic message, as he marries Gomer, who is repeatedly unfaithful to him.  Hosea continues to love his wife, despite her unfaithfulness to him and so his marriage is a picture of God’s covenantal love for his people and Israel’s continual unfaithfulness to Him.  The last eleven chapters of Hosea record the accusations against Israel and the warnings for them to turn and repent of their disobedient ways.  These chapters reveal the character and heart of God, as he is torn by his love and compassion for them and their need for discipline.  In the end, they face judgement but there is hope, as God’s healing love is poured out on them.

How do I enroll for this winter study?

There is no enrollment.  No requirement to subscribe.  Just come and join in anytime!

What is Good Morning Girls?

“Good Morning Girls” is a title for a group of women who use email, Facebook, Twitter or text messaging to keep each other accountable for their quiet times.

Do I have to have a Good Morning Girls Group to join the Bible Study?

No.  You can do this study without a group on your own.

How Do I Start a Good Morning Girls accountability group?

Invite some of your friends to join you.  Pray about who from your church, Bible study group, family, neighborhood or workplace would be a good fit.  Groups that are smaller generally work better – 5-12 is a good number especially for email and text messaging groups. Facebook groups can go quite a bit larger and still work.

Once I have a group, what do I do?

Either create a Facebook Group where you can all discuss your daily reading and reflection questions or create an email group and email the group daily.  My group uses the Voxer App – a voice messaging app -to share about our quiet times.  You could also use text messaging or meet in person weekly in your home or at a coffee shop.

I want to be a leader of a group but I’m not sure how to lead?

To access the FREE Leader’s Training Video Series go —–> HERE.

The Good Morning Girls Leaders Manual is available as a digital download for free –> HERE.

Or you can find it out on Amazon in Paperback –> Here.

The manual includes: The leader’s responsibilities.  How to set up a Good Morning Girls Group. What to do once your group is set up. Tips to help your GMG Group thrive. How to Encourage Participation. How to fostering an atmosphere of community. The importance of prayer. A sample welcome letter. 9 ways to get more out of your Bible Study. Answers to frequently asked questions. Icebreaker Questions. And What to do if your GMG Group is struggling.

Can I Join a Group On-Line?

Yes, one week before we begin, I will invite women with open groups to leave links to their facebook groups or email groups, in the comment section here on the blog. So please stop back on that day to look for a group!

That’s all for now. If you have never seen the video that explains how the SOAK Method and Bible Coloring Chart work – I am posting it below. You do not have to use this method of Bible Study to join us.  All you really need is your Bible and an open heart.  But these tools will help you go deeper.

Here are the highlighters, pens and pencils I mentioned in the video:

Highlighters – Bible Hi-Gliders . Fine Line Non-bleeding Pens – Multi-Colored Gel Pens

Colored Pencils – Crayola Twistables and Crayola Colored Pencils

I use the ESV Inductive Study Bible and the ESV Journaling Bible as my personal study Bible.

(please note the change of the start date – for various reasons I moved it back a week.)

Spread the Word!  Share this post with your friends!  And look for the free resources and more details about our study study coming in April.

I really hope you will join us.

Special Note:

Friends, I know the world is turned upside down right now.  Life is so unpredictable and a bit scary.  I am praying for you all to be safe and well.  Fear and faith cannot co-exist.  We must press on in faith and not give into fear.  God loves you so much and He is with you!

Our Hosea study does not begin for four weeks – so if you have never done the Rest and Release – 4 Week Bible Study – this might be an encouragement to you during this time.  You can find all of the free videos and resources on this page —–> HERE.

I thank the Lord for you all and can’t wait to study the Bible with you in April!!!   Until then, I am praying this over you all:

Now to him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you blameless before the presence of his glory with great joy,  to the only God, our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen.
(Jude 1:24 & 25)

    2. OH Diane – I am so very sorry for the pain and sorrow you are experiencing. I have been there and I know exactly what you are feeling. Here is a link to the blog posts I have written on divorce: https://womenlivingwell.org/category/divorce/ and I recommend my Rest and Release Study – it is the only study that I mention my divorce in: https://womenlivingwell.org/rest-and-release/ . and I also recommend Kay Arthur’s Finding Hope After Divorce – available here: https://amzn.to/3b0Gfl0 . I hope these resources help.

Stay strong in the Lord and in his word Diane. God loves you, He is with you and he is faithful.
      Lots of Love,
      Courtney

  4. So excited! My husband and I are actually guiding two of our kids through this together this time. Looking forward to seeing how this Family study goes! I’ve been following and doing this for years! Thank you for your faithfulness, Courtney!
    Blessings, Catherine

    1. Hi Catherine,

I’m so glad you are joining us again and I love that you are doing this together as a family. That’s great! Thank you for sharing this.

      Much Love,
      Courtney 🙂

  5. Read Ruth. And just finished Rest and release. Courtney thank you. I grew up in church school and bible college. And as non perfect perfectionist it’s refreshing to have heart knowledge not just head knowledge. I too went though a painful divorce that still haunts me 15 years later. Even Though threw Gods redemption I met and remarried 12 years ago. It’s like my life as Christian changed, my ministering changed. Because of the titles I never thought I’d have divorced. Even now as a wife and a mom of 2 daughter one 17 from my first marriage and one 10 with my husband Will. It still a wound that has been very judged. I need to let go of titles and realized I’m God The creators daughter. I’m still me and I’m not allowing the past to crush all the joy I have.

  6. Hello, I am looking forward to my first online study in Hosea. I’ve been a Christian for over 50 years, but struggle with being consistent in my study, so I am excited to be part of this group! I’ve asked to join the FB group and purchased the digital journal. Do I read ahead of time? Ready to go April 13!
