Week 3 – Rhythms of Reflection

What is reflection?

The definition of reflection is to give serious thought or consideration to.
It is to contemplate or study.

Reflection is a spiritual habit that leads to rest.

In psychology – journaling and reflection is used for growing in self-awareness and emotional intelligence. It is used as a cathartic practice to get things out – which is good and helpful but it is missing an important piece to the puzzle.

Godly reflection anchors our emotions to truth – and when our anchor is truth – we are not tossed around by the waves of world and we are able to simply hold onto God as our anchor and rest.

And so godly reflection includes – meditation, memorization, confession, prayer, gratitude lists, and journaling.

As you have been writing in your journals – you have seen that at the start of each week, I have created space for you to write out things you are grateful for each week.

Gratitude lists require reflection.

So let’s get started!

🕯️ Week 3 – Challenge 💐

Go pick a bouquet of flowers from your garden or a nearby field or buy yourself a small bouquet.  Each time you see the flowers, be reminded of God’s love and presence with you.  Our creator God is listening to your prayers.

I will be purchasing a small bouquet from my grocery store and placing it in a vase, in my kitchen.

  1. Courtney, I think of everything I’ve ever heard or read from you, this has got to be one of the most beautiful, and inspiring lessons I’ve ever been gifted to get. I’ve been with you since the beginning of your online ministry, and I’ve been blessed through your words and your beautiful life many, many times. I want to say thank you for being so obedient and spreading the good news and speaking into my life as these years have passed. You have truly been gifted and you sharing your gift with so many is greatly appreciated. My life is blessed many times over through you and I praise our God for you. Thank you and blessings, Shannon
