Summer Bible Study Plans and Ideas

Summer Bible Study Plans and Ideas[2]

Summer is here! Have you made your summer Bible study plans? If not, I have a few ideas for you.

1. Read through the book of Proverbs with us  here at Good Morning Girls!  We are reading one chapter a day all summer long – you can find our resources and reading plans here —> GoodMorningGirls.org

Another way you could read Proverbs is this:

Read one chapter a day everyday.  There are 30-31 days in every month and there are 31 chapters in the book of Proverbs. Spend the entire month reading, meditating, memorizing and studying Proverbs in-depth.  Then in August – reread Proverbs – the entire book for a second time!

Why do I suggest Proverbs as a summer read?

Do you ever feel like you just need some wisdom to help you in your marriage, parenting, homemaking, friendships, or work? Proverbs IS the book of wisdom. God says of the author Soloman, “I will give you a wise and discerning heart, so that there will never have been anyone like you, nor will there ever be.”(I Kings 3:12)

So as you soak in the summer sun – take some time to soak in the Proverbs.

  1. Thanks for the great suggestion. Reading proverbs will go great with what I was planning on doing in June which is going through The Power of a Praying Parent. Earlier this year I was in a group that did Becoming the Woman God wants me to Be and so restudying the 31st Proverb will be a good review.

  2. A friend just told me about a summer reading plan on Bible Gateway.com-reading through the bible in 90 days. It begins today and ends August 26. She said it took her about 40 minutes this Morning. Sounds interesting and it would be really nice to read through the whole bible over the summer!

  3. I liked your suggestions. 🙂 I’ve been trying to get my MOPS Coordinator on the ball to get a summer study going for the Steering Team, but nothing so far.

I love Jennifer Rothschild! That study was on of the ones on the list of cool studies I sent in. I am really hoping we get to start one soon. I need the motivation and accountability to keep studying! 🙂

  4. I’m doing the GMG proverbs study and have The Dig that goes along with it, but have yet to slow down and do it with the kids. Going to make time to do that.
