Reshaping It All and a Giveaway

Over Christmas, I began reading Reshaping It All: Motivation for Physical and Spiritual Fitness written by Candace Cameron Bure (formerly known as DJ from Full House) and Darlene Schacht who blogs over at Time Warp Wives.

Not only have I been reading it, I have been applying it!! So let me share with you a few of the principles I have learned from the book.
1. “This outer shell is simply an envelop for my spirit. The contents are precious, eternal and costly, bought with a price, and the envelop has been fashioned by the world’s greatest designer, the Creator Himself.” pg. 66 It is tempting to put too much focus on our outer “envelope”…but it is the precious contents – my spirit and soul that God has redeemed and that will live forever. But we must remember that God did choose to give us this “envelope” and he designed it as he pleased. (Psalm 139:13-16)
2. “God loves you, just the shape you are and there isn’t a single number on the scale that could ever change that.” pg. 67
3. “Each year, each week, each day, and each hour we are offered choices. Should I grab water or a soda pop, a bag of chips or an apple?…take the stairs or the elevator? The reason we fail to consider these choices as carefully as we should is because the value we place on them is so low.” pg. 83 This is SO true about learning any discipline in life. It’s the small battles won day in and day out that show a life transformed. It’s saying no to our flesh over and over and over and over that over time show a life of victory.
4. “When we resist temptation, it eventually flees.” (James 4:7) pg.83 This is so very true. For a fleeting few minutes we may face temptation when everyone is eating dessert. But when the dessert time has ended, the temptation also ends and we learn indeed we can survive without dessert!

5. “Self-disciplines when applied to our life not only bring self-respect; they also bring the respect from others around us.” pg 100 The Proverbs 31 woman led a life of discipline and as a result both her husband and children praised her. People who seek out the quick fixes are less remarkable and usually return to their old ways. But those who are diligent to lead a disciplined life – often demand the attention of others – they are remarkable!

6. Prosperity gives us the option for gluttony, a sin the Bible warns against. But many of us aren’t sure where pleasure ends and gluttony begins…Proverbs 23:20-21 speaks against a gluttonous lifestyle…in Latin gluttire means “to gulp down or swallow”…In Hebrew it means “to have in excess.” The modern definition of the word gluttony is to habitually eat to excess.” pg. 111 This is a hard truth to swallow…isn’t it *{blush}

What is fun about this book is not only does it give you great principles to live by but it also includes Candace’s testimony, solid scripture references, realistic tips to apply and even recipes!!!

This week I whipped up for my family three of Candace’s dishes! I made her Orange Chicken Fajitas, Oven Roasted Broccoli with Lemon Baked Salmon (not pictured), and her Turkey Meatloaf (ignore the butter on the potatoes – I know it’s not healthy lol! I’m a work in progress okay? hehe!). And I plan to make a few more of her recipes this week!

This gives you a great intro to this book. I highly recommend it. I honestly could write 5 posts on this book – but let me leave you with this one staggering truth! I have been applying it THIS week and I lost 3 pounds – now mind you – I’m coming off the holiday sugar rush…but I still see how this book is transforming my thinking and helping me to think clearly about what and why I eat. It feels good to be practicing self-control again in this area of my life.

  1. I absolutely agree about the small battles. My weakness is grabbing a specialty coffee drink on the way to work, far too often. It's one of those things that used to be a treat but has morphed into a habit, and which I'm trying to change.

  2. sounds like a book i need to read. been battling loosing weight since my child was born. i like what she says….."Each year, each week, each day, and each hour we are offered choices. Should I grab water or a soda pop, a bag of chips or an apple?…take the stairs or the elevator? The reason we fail to consider these choices as carefully as we should is because the value we place on them is so low."

  3. I've been wanting to read this book so bad! can't wait now after reading your post ๐Ÿ™‚

    congrats on the weight lose

  4. It is the small battles! I've tried to be more mindful this week in my eating too (as I'm recovering from the Christmas sugar rush myself) and I've found that if I take a moment, make a cup of tea and really think about whether I want that treat or not, often times I can live without it.

I'd love this book for the reminders it offers. It sounds very encouraging!

  5. Sounds like a wonderful book full of wisdom! I have started working out but, really should change my eating habits too. I think this book would be very helpful. Courtney the chicken and the peppers look yummy! Thanks for being a blessing!

  6. I've just recently started following your blog and Time Warp Wives'. I've been so blessed and encouraged.

Please enter me in your giveaway!

    In Christ,
    Roxanne

  10. I have not heard of this book, but sounds really interesting! I would love it! Thanks for a chance! and Thanks for the give-a-way!

  11. I would love to read that! Of all days, Sundays are the absolute worst for my eating. I skip breakfast because we're in a rush, and then eat too much for lunch, and too late for dinner. I just finished eating supper because we got home so late from evening service and finally got the kids to bed.

Anyway, I needed this reminder. Guess I'll start tomorrow!! ๐Ÿ˜‰

  12. This sounds like such a wonderful book, I know that there is no better time than now to tackle the weight I need to loose.
    Thanks Courtney !
    Nichole H

  13. Sounds like a great book that would help me out. I definitely need to work harder at watching what I eat and focus on eating for the Lord, not for my own desires!

  14. I just got back to the gym for the first time in months this past week, so I am interested right now in anything that will keep me motivated and working on self control and good choices!!!

  15. My husband and I are working on getting healthy together. I'm am so proud of all the work he's put in, but my motivation is lacking! The book sounds like a fantastic inspiration and resource.

  16. I read about her book on People.com. What a great testimony to her faith. My daughter has currently developed an obsession for watching Full House and it is fun to see DJ as such a pretty young lady.

  17. Great post Courtney, we all need encouragement when it comes to losing weight. This sounds like a great book to inspire.

I have been visiting Time Warp Wife after finding it recently, it is such a helpful blog.

    Tania

  18. Thanks for posting sis I LOVE Candace and have also struggled in this area myself and am now finding discipline in this area as well!! Thanks for sharing God Bless!!
    Cindy

  19. This is so awesome and cant wait to pick up the book myself. I started Weight Watchers last Monday and with the Lord teaching me how to completely surrender to Him in 2010, I knew that I was ready to commit to losing weight this year. I am excited because I know I will be leaning on Him to get me through this. Thanks for the review!! ~Blessings Sonya

  20. I heard about this book not too long ago and thought it sounded good. After reading this post, I can tell that it would be worth my time! It's going on my "to read" list, for sure.

  21. I would love to win this book. Also you should visit Candace's web page and listen to her testimony as well as how her husband came to know Jesus as his Savior. Thanks for sharing!

  22. This book sounds like it was written for me… though I imagine there are TONS of women out there that could say the same thing. With a tight budget in our house, winning this book would be such a blessing!

I found your site a couple of months ago and have been so inspired and encouraged. Thanks for writing to all us moms and women.

  23. This sounds like an awesome book. Thank you so much for sharing it. It sounds exactly like what I need for where I am at in my life right now.

  24. This sounds like a wonderful book that I absolutely must read. I've been losing the same 15 lbs every year for over a decade now. I keep saying this'll be the year it goes away and stays away for good!

  25. I love this review and will shout it from the rooftops. Thank you soooooo much. You are a precious gem. In fact I had to pause before writing this comment to thank God for the ministry that you are doing, and what you mean to all of us.

  26. THis book sounds great. I would agree that after the holidays I'm not tempted by anything sweet.
    rsgrandinetti@yahoo(DOT)com

  27. I love this and really want to read that book! Check out my blog if you are interested in more "get healthy" ideas. I've lost almost 80 pounds and have about 40 to go…so I'm all about new ideas. Just finished a rant on goal setting. ๐Ÿ™‚ Now if I could just apply this discipline to my spiritual life!

    Best,
    Clara

  28. After battling depression, finding Jesus, overcoming my past… Its sad to type that I find myself 100 lbs overweight. I just went to the doctor yesterday and also learned about this book from a great gal in my GMG group. This would be a definite blessing to win!

  29. Great review! And actually, a little butter is perfectly healthy. In moderation! I'd rather have a little butter, which I love, then stuff down artificial butter that doesn't satisfy my taste. (Making me crave butter all the more!)

  30. I am horrible at sticking to new habits that I try to start…ugh.

I have been excited to read this one.

    Jen
    @jenchic

  31. Sounds like a good one – I'm pregnant right now but that always gives me motivation for when I can get the baby weight back off! :0)

  32. WEll, What a great way to start the New Year right. I am off to try to lose alot of weight. Almost 100 lbs. I agree that it is going to take alot of baby steps. I would love to get ahold of a copy of this book. If I don't win one, I will go out and buy one for sure. Thank you for giving us all a sneak peak!… and for a great blog

  33. I really want to win this book. I know it would get me refocused. Life has been so busy. Its not just about eating but focusing on my body being God's temple. Thanks for writing it!

  34. I would love to read this book! I haven't shed my extra baby weight with my second little one and my "baby" is now 3! Gluttony (aka "cravings") was definitely an issue for me during my pregnancies. I haven't gained since then but I definitely haven't lost the extra pounds– putting those calories on the deficit side. I would love to learn about the success other women have had conquering the issue and optimizing our health. katatomic(at)hotmail(dot)com

  35. I am so glad you reviewed this book. I ordered it from Amazon a few weeks ago (it has to get to NZ so maybe it will arrive soon) and now I am really, really looking forward to it.

  36. I'd just love to read this book and am super interested in the orange fajita recipe…along with learning more healthy recipes. I love the author's take on weight loss and could really use something like this to jumpstart my healthy living goals.

  37. Oh pick me! I need some inspiration (me and my gallbladder both do- as it is threatening to quit functioning in the New Year)!

  38. Right now, the self control that Ihave is control those arms to reach for another chip or sweet tea or waiting 10 mins to catch the elevator to the second floor. I need to get refocused physically and spiritually. I know that if I can rap my mind around the my spiritual worth, the physical will follow.

  39. I've heard great things about this book and I'd love to read it! If I win the book, I plan to pass it onto my sister and friends so Candace's message can bless more people.

  40. I am so glad to read your positive review of this book. I thought it sounded like it would be great! I hope I win it! Thanks Courtney for doing the review and thanks Darlene for the giveaway copy! Have a blessed day!!!

  41. It's the small battles won day in and day out that show a life transformed.
Love this quote of yours. It was a 'aha' moment for me. Love your heart showing up in your writings. Blessings

  42. This looks like a great book – and Candace looks fantastic! I definitely am looking forward to trying the Orange Chicken Fajitas.

  43. I saw an interview with Candace Cameron Bure on The 700 Club awhile back. Her testimony was lovely!!! That book sounds really neat…especially orange chicken fajitas…I LOVE orange chicken ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚ Thanks for hosting this giveaway ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚ Love and hugs from Oregon, Heather ๐Ÿ™‚

  44. How fun, I'd love to win!

I love your comment about choices because it's so true. We sometimes forget that we have a choice because we can eat out of habit, so to speak.

I haven't had any pop for awhile, and today we went out to lunch and I noticed that I didn't even miss it. I had water instead.

In the past I'd be asking myself "pop or water? pop or water?" but since I've been off it for awhile, I guess I've become used to it now.

Thanks for linking up to Making Your Home Sing Monday!

  45. WOW These recipes looks "really" good! I have been intrigued about this book ever since she talked about writing it. I would love to win a copy!

  46. Choices, choices, choices, that is what it all comes down to. Even choosing to not choose is choosing. ๐Ÿ™‚

"It's the small battles won day in and day out that show a life transformed."

This is sooo true! I have been thinking about this a lot and am praying. Thank you for sharing!!!

    God Bless,
    Sherry

  47. What a great giveaway! We all need these extra reminders and this book would be a blessing to me and if I win I will pass it on to my best friends.

  48. I could really use this book right now! My big New Year's resolution is to quit smoking and I'm already up 6 pounds in 9 days in addition to the 20 I already needed to lose. Ugh! Although I do have weight to lose, it sounds like this book approaches it in a very uplifting way, which I love. I hope I win! ๐Ÿ™‚

  49. WOW!!!! That is alot of comments. I just wanted to say that I have the book. I want another copy for a gift to give one of my siblings or my mother. Or a cousin. Or any relative or friend. I am beyond words to describe how much this book has helped me. I am only through Chapter 8. Candace and Darlene have helped me so much in the writing of this book. I prayed for a long time for something like this. And it came. AMEN!!! I am a person who struggles with many things. And this is helping me. I have told everyone I know about it. Its amazing. God Bless Candace and Darlene. God is going to use this and keep on using it. I found your website through Candace tweeting about Darlene and the book. And now I have joined your book club, Your Bible Study. You have no idea how turned off I was to any Godly people. And now I just trying to RESHAPE my life. I want to live. And live with the helpful things that are written in this book, in God's word, the fellowship of the Christian women I have met since I heard about this book, and so much more. I don't think Candace and Darlene know how much this book is going to help a gazillion girls much worse off then me. I just want to pass this book to everyone. Its going to take a long while to heal me. But its all about Reshaping. God Bless.

  50. Remember the focus is not about weight loss. Its about changing your way of thinking. Its not a diet. Not at all. Its so much more. Renewing your mind. Its wonderful. Sorry I had to post that. Congrats on losing weight if that is what you wanted. But for me with an eating disorder – its helping me look at food differently and look at life differently.

    Carolyn

  51. Wow – I guess I can't win the book anyway, as shipping would be too much, but it sounds like a great book and I am happy that I found it on Amazon Europe! So this Friday I will order it (I am always on the optimistic side, so if there is a chance of at least 0.0001% I will take it, lol!). Thanks for sharing!!!

  52. Sounds like a wonderful book. I would love to add it to my new years list of Christian reading.
    Deb (dkotsonis77@yahoo.com)

  53. I just joined weight watchers last week and lost the 3.5 lbs that I had put on at Christmas; a relief, but as ww just focuses on the outer envelope, I do want to focus on the inside, as you mention that Bure does in her book.

  54. Thanks for making this offer! I have been to "Time Warp Wife" on your recommendation!
What a great way to start the new year!
    โ™ฅ Kim A.

  55. Sounds like a great book. An area I've constantly struggled with virtually my whole life, is my weight. (was in weight watchers by 5th grade)I would love to be half the woman I am today! lol. It's just SO hard. I've tried so many things and have yet to find what will work for me.

  56. I just stood at the bookstore on Saturday poring over this book and then regretting I didn't buy it. Looks so good and your review has convinced me. Thanks girlfriend!
    Suzanne
P.S. Thank you so much for the precious birthday wishes you left for my sweet girl. To receive wishes and a mothering compliment from you is truly an honour!

  57. I would agree with anonymous about the butter comment. It is healthy in moderation. It certainly is better than any "man made" margarine. I always say eat what God makes! lol This book sounds great!

  58. Ive been seeing and reading so much about this book and added it to my list!!! Hope i win ๐Ÿ™‚

  59. I just finished this book last week and by just watching my portions and not eating more than I need to be satisfied have lost 3 pounds. It's a totally different mindset knowing we are not being pleasing to God when we overeat.

  60. This sounds like a great book and boy, do I need it. I've dried Weight Watchers and other diets but I think I need something more like a divine intervention ๐Ÿ™‚ Thanks for sharing it with us. I'd love to win it but will plan to purchase it, if I don't. Thanks again!

  61. This book sounds like just what I've been needing to read. Thanks for sharing some healthy recipes to:) I'm always looking for inspiration.

  62. From your post it seems there is a lot of common sense and honesty about our love for food and our *at times* over indulgence. I teach a class to Middle School students that focuses on healthy eating and the importance of exercise. Self discipline is the key and yet so hard to achieve w/out a good role model to look to. Sounds like I could incorporate a lot from this book into my class.

  63. Sounds like jus the encouragement I need to practice what God has laid on my heart about taking care of my temple!

  64. I have been wanting to read this book!! I so appreciate Candace's testimony and have recently chatted w/ Darlene on Twitter. What a great giveaway! Thanks!

  65. This looks like a great book to benefit many women. I think we lose focus on things that are important. God loves us regardless but I do want to treat my body like His temple so I can be an example to others. I bet this book is encouraging no matter where you are in your walk to health.

  66. I've heard about this book several times now, and would love to read it. Thank you!
    stefoneks (at) gmail (dot) com

  67. I would LOVE this book! I read reviews for it last week and it sounds incredible. My husband and I have really been approaching weight loss & healthy eating with the Lord leading our way so this would be a perfect compliment ๐Ÿ™‚

  68. Wow this would be wonderful! I just started working out at the gym this would be wonderful in addition:) Thanks for the chance to win:)

  69. Courtney, this book sounds like it's filled with hope, which I desparately need. I have struggled with my weight/food issues all my life and would love victory. I'm at the point where my health is a concern. I would love, love, love to win this book. Thanks for all you do. God bless, Jenny C. my email is at orosco99@juno.com

  70. I didn't know that she had a book. Thanks for featuring. I would love to win a copy. Have a great day!

  71. Thanks for offering the chance to win it! Hope I win! If I do, I'll definitely pass it on, so others can read it, too

  72. This looks like an amazing book! I've been struggling with my weight ever since baby #2. I've been trying to give it over to God so I don't obsess over it. I've also been trying to focus on eating smaller portions!

  73. The little battles, yes, I've been working on keeping up my dishes and laundry since I started reading these blogs. You've helped me so much. I've not been perfect, but am a work in progress. I'd love to get a copy of this book, I need discipline in eating as well.
Thank you for your blogging ministry, your such an inspiration to me:)

  74. The Lord has been convicting me of this very thing (my body is just a shell wrapped around a soul). I need to start treating my body like the temple it is! This book sounds like a great tool.

  75. This sounds like a great book! I would love the chance to read it!

I know that you are not answering emails at this time but I wanted to let you know what an inspiration you have been to me. I have been working on changing my attitude about my role as wife, mother and homemaker (I also work full time out of the house) and the changes are paying off! We are becoming a much happier family.

I took my kids to church for the first time this past weekend and have started reading my bible that has sat on the shelf for so many years.

Thank you so much for your blog!

  76. Thanks so much for the intro to this book and sharing your thoughts. It's the everyday smaller battles that seem the toughest. Thanks for the giveaway!

  77. Wow- what an awesome book! In Sept. of 2010 I finally realized the importance and the connection between our physical health and our spiritual health.(When I am putting junk into my body, I do not think as clearly.)So I have made some majoy changes – one being giving up soda – this is something I have tried SO many times in the past – and Praise the Lord He has given me the victory – I have not had one since Sept 10th.
I would love to be entered in to the drawing for this book, it looks like it would be very helpful on the journey that I am on. Thanks,
    Lisa :o)

  78. Enjoy reading & "hearing" your blog and vlogs! I also enjoy Time Warp Wife. You both inspire and I share your site with friends. Would love to win the book as I need all the inspiration I can get. Blessings

  79. I have been looking forward to reading this book, but have not purchased it yet. It would be great to win a copy!!
I'm so glad you are enjoying it, it sounds like a great book.

  80. This sounds like a great book and one I am definitely putting on my list. Thank you for the opportunity to win!

If you would have asked me last summer if I thought that food was a weakness, I would have laughed and said 'No Way!' However, in the last few months, God has placed words like "change" and "new" and "peace" on my heart and mind daily. I know that He has great things in store for me and pray that I will be obedient enough to listen.

  81. Looks great! She was such a doll WAAAAY back then when I watched that show. : ) Thanks for sharing~I hadn't heard of this book yet. God bless! ~Lyn

  82. This book was recommended to me last week by a former student who is 17! She couldn't lend it to me because she had it on Kindle, so I added it to my "to buy" list. It would be awesome to win it, though!

  83. I have been dying to get this book! I loved hearing a little review of it from you! It sounds so inspiring and I can't wait to read it and try some recipes. Thanks for the chance to win.

  84. Please, please pick me! I'm a huge fan of Candace. I've always believed that I have her same body type so I'd love to read more about how she maintains. Does it sound like I'm begging…..I am! BTW, love your blog. I'm right there with ya on so many of your posts.

  85. As mom's, we are gifted at taking care of others but we often fall short of taking care of ourselves. This year I want to learn (and implement what I learn) how to take care of me. I need to be a good steward of what the Lord has blessed me with physically. It will allow me to be a better me and a better mom. Would love to have the opportunity to read this one!

  86. This book sounds wonderful! I have never heard of it before but it sounds like something I need to read for sure. I have decided to work towards getting healthy this year (as i'm sure so many others have as well). My husband and I joined a gym and are both working towards eating healthy, which for me that will take some work as i'm not a fan of veggies! :o)But it really is so much just about life style changes and winning those small battles you talked about. Thanks for sharing this book with us, I will be looking into it for sure! :o)

  87. Thank you for this post! I need all the help I can get :-). I have a food addiction. I often eat for comfort, not so much because I'm hungry. I've been meaning to pick up Lisa Tuerkerst's "Made to Crave". I so want to crave more of God and less of the foods and beverages that are harming this temple.

    Blessings,
    Sandra

  88. We all need daily reminders of how to stay disciplined in every area of our lives. Thank you.
    Ruth

  89. I just found Candace's website last week and downloaded a sample of her book to my Kindle. I would love to win so I can read the rest of the book. Thanks Courney!

  90. Oh I am SO excited you are doing this! I have loved reading her blog, and Darlene's! I have been trying to get my library to get a copy of this–if I don't win here I will have to save up & purchase, looks so good!
    Blessings ๐Ÿ˜‰

  91. Thank you for your inspiration, Courtney. I always know that I'll be uplifted when I visit your site! Whether you are helping us spiritually, emotionally, or physically, you allow yourself to be a Godly vessel of information! God bless you. (Oh, and the book sounds pretty awesome!) ๐Ÿ™‚

  92. Thanks for posting some of the ideas from the book- we truly can and should be applying God's Truth in all areas of our life. When there isn't balance spiritually it shows up somewhere.

  93. I would absolutely LOVE to read this book! I think Candace Cameron Bure is such an inspiration and I'd love to read what she has to say about being healthy and fit.

  94. How awesome! I have loved her since Full House. Love how God is using her in a mighty way. Sounds like a great book! Blessings! ๐Ÿ™‚

  95. Excited about this giveaway! Haven't been able to find the book in stores and will have to wait to buy online…

  96. I agree it starts with those small battles we face everyday. Sounds like an interesting book. Thanks for the giveaway.

  97. Wow, this book looks wonderful. I had not heard of this book until reading your blog this AM. I googled the book and found so many interesting book reviews. The one I loved the most was when it was mentioned that "this is more than a testimony, it is a motivational tool that will put readers on the right track." What busy Mom or struggling single woman with/without kids that doesn't need help getting on track in our busy day to day lives! Who had time to put themselves first when we try to make everyone else in our family happy, healthy and comfortable. I would be so grateful for that chance to win and to "get on track"!

  98. I really want to download this book in my Kindle App – but gotta wait till payday. Hehe! It sounds like a great book! Can't wait to read it.

  99. I have been battling weight and food since eighth grade-I am 53 years young tomorrow and am more than ready for a change! Thanks for considering me. Denise

  100. I sure would love to win a copy of this book. After having my 2 boys and working full time night shift as a nurse, I have struggled with my weight. I have been so discouraged, and it has affected everything – my attitude, my joy, my relationship with my husband. I know that sounds really bad, but it has been a discouraging time. I would love to learn better how to have the perspective and attitude towards my body that God wants me to have.

  101. My weight has been something i have always struggled with, and I could use all the help I could get in this area. I have recently lost almost 50 pounds, but have about another 60 to go. It is so true that we need to focus on working out our spirit as much as our body!

  102. The Lord is speaking to me today. I just read a devotion about weak places and then read your blog. I would love to read her book. ๐Ÿ™‚

  103. Ohh, I love the envelope analogy. I would love to win this book and have been hoping for help with losing some weight. I've always been able to eat pretty much anything and stay slim. Now over the last year and a half my food shows up on my behind, my hips, thighs…etc. I've never worked on losing weight or denying myself food before. I would be great to win on our tight budget. I think I've stopped buying the healthier foods because the cheap is well…cheaper. I need to splurge on healthful eating once more but the money isn't there. Julies

  104. I just had my first baby in May and am expecting my second this coming August!

It would be great to win!!

  105. What an awesome sounding book! This comes at the perfect time. I have 18, 15 and 6 year old girls and a 14 year old boy. My 6 yr old commented on her weight yesterday!! And…let's not forget, this affects boys also. My 14 yr old is on the verge of way too skinny because kids called him fat last year. You can see his collar bone and ribs now. Would love to read it as a family. Thanks for all you do!

  106. This sounds like an awesome book, I love Candace Cameron Bure and Darlene Schacht, Time Warp Wives is one of my favorite blogs! I would love to win this book! ๐Ÿ™‚

Thanks for entering me into the drawing!

  141. I would LOVE to read this book — weight loss from a Christian perspective! 142. At the beginning of the year I started my weight loss program. I cut out pop completely and lost 45 lbs in 3 months. I am looking to lose at most 20 more lbs. I am struggling with this at this point because I believe that I have reached my peak. I am looking for ways to tone up and lose more weight. I have been hearing so much about this book and if I don't win one of your books in this giveaway it will definitely be on my purchase list in the very near future. Looking forward to learning new tips and tricks as well as health conscious recipes. Keep up the good work Candace Cameron Bure.

  170. First I'd like to say I have so enjoyed your blog since stumbling across it just over a month ago. I'm not sure now how I even came across it but am so glad I did. I look forward to following along in 2011!

This book sounds great and I'd love to win it but if I do happen to win I think I would give it to my mom who has always battled with her weight and could use a fresh perspective I think right now. And then of course I'd borrow it back from her so I could read it as well!!

  171. I've heard great things about this book & even have it on my Paperback Swap wishlist, but I sure would love to win it even sooner! ๐Ÿ™‚ Thx!

  172. I'm so excited to read this book! Candace has been inspirational to me in only 140 characters on Twitter, so I can only imagine how inspired I will be throughout a whole book!?! It's nice to hear people talk about things we can change without "dieting".

  173. I'm so excited to read this book! Candace has been inspirational to me in only 140 characters on Twitter, so I can only imagine how inspired I will be throughout a whole book!?! It's nice to hear people talk about things we can change without "dieting".

    josephine (.) parsons (@) yahoo (.) com

  175. Sounds like a great book! I've seen it before and been tempted to buy it, but it would be so much better to win it!

  176. What a great book review. I will definantly be getting this book one way or another-this is a subject that I've been studying and praying over for the last 2 years-I've lost over 30 pounds but need renewed inspiration for the continued journey:)

  177. I have been wanting to get this book. Defintely is going to be an encouraging source for me and for how I raise my daughters and their view on food, eating, and appearance.

  178. I grew up watching Candace on Full House! Sounds like a great book and that's so cool that she included some recipes!

  179. I have not commented before. I love your blog it has been a source of encouragement. I would love this book as I am finally figuring out health problems that have plagued me for 5 years. I am on thyroid medication and working on a healthy cleansing of my system – particularly my kidneys as I have suffered lately with large stones that cannot be passed. I have been hospitalized and had stints and surgeries on my kidneys. No more. I need to be healthy for my amazing hubby and my four beautiful children that I homeschool. Thanks for all you do in sharing your heart. What a blessing.

  180. I am just coming to the realization that the Most High God loves me!…. really, really loves me and longs to be all that i need….my healer, my comforter, my counselor, the father to my 3 boys, my encourager, my helper, my provider and so on. For all the reasons i went to food, He has been there waiting for me. After 20 years of being a care taker for my 25 yr old brain injured son, enduring domestic violence in a marriage of 27 years (that was simply a marriage by the certificate) and being a single Mom for 2 years while bringing home commission only (yikes) to my 3 son's, I finally get it. It is time to put me back on my day planner!!! I have worked so hard at being the perfect care taker, mother, daughter, sister, friend and neglected myself and the temple of Lord as a result. Seeking balance in 2011!! I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me Moment by Moment!!

  181. I saw this advertised on tv then again at Time Warp Wife and would love this book. Candace's journey and Darlenes website have been such a blessing to me….I know this book will be a blessing as well.

  182. I have been wanting to read this book. It's wonderful to hear what you have to say about it and to know it is worth reading. ๐Ÿ™‚ What a terrific giveaway! Thanks!

  183. I love Candace she is one of the sweetest person I know. I have been looking for her book in stores around me and no one has it. ( I was very surprised at that)I am dying to read her book. I saw her on a show being interviewed and she gave four tips from her book which I have been applying to my life and I was excited to see they are working. I was also excited to see the book talks about her being a christian. What a great way to witness. Keep it up Candace!
    -Kati R

  184. I recently heard of the book..Reshaping it All. And I look forward to reading it (I hope I win a copy) Thank you for sharing Darlene's article…just that excerpt it a good sample of the encouragment I know I need. Thank you for your encouragment to wives. I just now found your blog…I'm not a big blog reader…but I believe I will look at yours often. I appreciate your encouragment! Lisa McMann

  185. Hey there,
Candace Cameron has certainly grown into a fabulous woman… I grew up with Full House, and always admired the family dynamic. Though those girls will always be known as "DJ from Full House" or "Stephanie from Full House" or "The Olsen Twins from Full House" they will always have their own individual personalities. I think it's great that Candace is using the opportunity to speak to the masses in such a positive way. I recently read Jodie Sweetin's book "Unsweetined" and thought it was an incredibly honest insight into her life. A great book, admirable, to say the least. I'd love to have Candace's book as well.

  186. Wow – thank you for the opportunity. My family is currently on the Daniel Fast, day 11 of 40, and we have seen tremendous blessings. I am not stepping on the scale until day 41 but my husband has lost 13 pounds so far. Thank you for today's post as well, I have a definite sweet tooth. But God took away my sugar cravings on Day 4. I'm sure if I were to start eating sugar again today they would return but I was amazed they were gone in 4 days!

  187. Sounds like a great read! I got on the road to better health last year and lost 35 pounds on top of losing the pregnancy weight. After trying to lose weight for 4 years (losing 10, gaining it back again, etc.)the thing that finally got me was the whole issue of gluttony. Gluttony is a sin, and I was eating wayyyy too much all the time. After the Lord convicted me of that, I was able to start seeing lasting success. During the holidays I gained about 5-10 pounds back; I am not going to allow myself to get back into my old bad habits. Time to get back on track!

  188. This book sounds great! And it is encouraging to know that the small changes I can handle making right now will actually make a difference over time!

  189. I just wanted to say how neat it was to read your review when I opened my e-mail. I'm really excited to read this book. I used some of my Christmas money to buy the book, so do not enter me in the drawing. My Mom and Dad were doing Cinch, so my hubby & I are doing the 5 day kick off. When I'm done with that, I'm devouring Reshaping It All!

  190. I don't need the book (already have it and have started reading it)… but I agree with the other commenter: butter, REAL butter is GOOD for you! Low fat/fat free is so not good for you! Real foods are the best!

  191. Oh, wow! This sounds like an excellent book. This has been a battle I have been fighting (very badly) for several months. Would love to win one!

  192. I really would love to win this book! I follow Candace on Twitter and she is so inspiring to me. I really need a book like this because it can help me on a better physical and spiritual journey.

  193. What a great response to this giveaway! Id love to win the book and use it to jumpstart a healthier chapter in my life.

  194. What a great book. I love the way it puts the spritual first and the physical second. I have often thought our first purpose is to keep our bodies healthy because they are the temple of God. I also want to be in shape so that I can serve Him with all my strength no matter how old I get.
When God and His purpose is first, then our desire to look nice will be in the right attitude and in the proper prespective. Thanks for the giveaway!

  195. I think I would enjoy reading this book. I too know the struggles of trying to be more obedient and putting my "self" back to be able to put God first. Even with the seemingly small things (such as what to make for dinner!, etc), God wants us to be obedient and let Him lead our lives. I'm trying to open my heart more and use both my ears to try to listen to Him =D

  196. I would love this book. I love Candace, Full House was and still is one of my favorite shows. I have begun (again) trying to get in shape and love to read anything motivational to help me on my journey!
    Leslie

  197. I just saw this book in an email from a Christian Book Store and it looks like a great read! Hope I win! Thanks for all you do!
